    Wilson 12, Edenton 9
    Wilson completes a season sweep of Edenton and hosts Ahoskie in a doubleheader Sunday to wrap up conference play. Post 13 is now 5-2 in the North Division of Area I East, 8-7 overall.

    Schedule change:
    Wilson will host Ahoskie in a doubleheader Monday, June 28, starting at 6 p.m. This is the final conference matchup of the season. If Rocky Mount wins at least once in a Sunday doubleheader at Edenton, they win the conference. An Edenton sweep combined with a Wilson sweep gives Wilson the top spot.

    Clayton Post 71 wraps up conference play with a series sweep of Garner Post 232. Clayton Post 71 continues to stay on a scoring roll, scoring 40 runs in series while allowing only 19.

    Post 71 is 13-3 overall, and 8-1 in the conference. Post 71 finishes on top of the Area 1 West American Conference.

    Conference champions

    It appears the regular-season winners in Area I's four conferences are:
    • Clayton and Cary in the West
    • Rocky Mount and Pitt County in the East
    Still some regular season games left before first round, best of 3 starts Tuesday, July 6.
