UMPIRES

It would be good if you tell the WHOLE story! and I'm not saying its right but how about walking a day in an umpire's shoes where we make calls and people ie coaches want to put in their two cents worth and some backyard rule they remember from playing 20 years ago, get the book read it, study it and ask questions that need to be asked and by all means control your parents!

And I've been doing this for a long time and i've never seen an ump get a game behind deliberately, a couple of coaches maybe but never an umpire! WOW!

 

....if I called a game, I'd look for the quickest 21 outs per side I could get, then wipe the sweat off my brow and apologize to both teams, coaches and parents for having to wear those polyester hotter than hell gigs! lol

Let me correct myself the mobile concession was good and the homemade ice-cream lady selling hot dogs.The parks and rec concession stunk.My dd had the meatloaf sandwich and loved the pasta salad.

 

Wow!! Anyone who's been at Walnut Creek over the past many years will be delightfully surprised to hear that news about the concessions. The parks and rec concessions were/are almost a reason to stay away from Walnut Creek.

Props to whoever managed to get those kind of vendors in! Great job!

Now, if we can get someone to put in some kind of activities for the little brothers and sisters of the players, that would add a lot more to it. Lots of little things could be added for the spectators that would make it all even more enjoyable--shade tents, fans, shuttles, etc.

Opportunities there, for sure!

 

Heads Up!!

How about a dollar for each kid that returns a foul ball.That would have them up and running!!!
