This was there first game of that tournament. If they ran out of pitching in game one what are they there for. As far as the coach (Dad) if he is letting this happen while he takes away time from us kids who need to be showcased what kind of man can he be. Showcase baseball is for players who need to get looked at for college. Not try to win a game at all cost. I can bet you that there are very upset parents and players on that team when this happens

This is a sad, sad story. IF everything that is said is true, it's very troubling. But I have learned not to take verbatim things people post on TBR.

Between coaches pitching and a team leaving early, it doesn't sound like a fun tournament.

It is sad to see this happen where a coach pitches or plays in the field for their team. Like said a few posts before it is taking away from the playerse who paid and are trying to be seen by the college coaches. I know of the Twisters and they have a very good team. Every kid on that team will be playing college baseball somewhere and can play with any body out there. Their short stop has atleast 3 D-1 offers. Grace Academy is a powerhouse in the small private school league and even took down public Weddington. They also have 11's from porter ridge and myers park i believe as well as boys from fortmill.

I saw the Twisters play that weekend... even the game in question... While they may be a powerhouse in the private school circuit, not so sure with the SHowcase circuit. Not so sure every one of those players get D1 offers either. Credit where Credits due, I thought MIF worked well together, CF with some bursts of speeds and adequate routes. They swung it pretty well that weekend and will consistently win their share of games, most likely. Was a good ball game they had against the bags, they just kinda errored their way into a loss!

I wonder how the head coach and his son can justify their actions. I know it's unethical, but is is it actually allowed by the showcase officials? Playing seniors who just graduated HS and are taking summer college classes is fine, but playing kids who were in college last year and 26 year old adult men is not what showcase should include.

And to find out that this Head Coach and his 26 year old son are the Baseball coaches for Grace Acedemy is unbelievable. I wonder how there AD or Head Master would look at this. This shows no respect for this great game of bsaeball. I hope all teams that play the Twisters in the future will question the director on this when they play.
