Great thread!!!!!! I would like to look at the stats of players from the different Legion teams (I-IV). You just never know what will catch a coach's eye...long balls, RBI's, stolen bases, on-base %, ERA, innings pitched, etc. These maybe individual stats; however, they need to be promoted:operator:...just "A Thought".:operator:

    post 66

    Post 66 lived and died by the long ball this year;

Chris Dula 12 Hr's (A new Post 66 record) Catawba
Billy Nance 9 Hr's CVCC (Team leader in batting avg. over .400 )
Tyler Lewis 7 Hr's UNC-Pembroke (Missed 3 weeks of season with illness )
    Nick Keith 7 Hr's Georgia
Jake Beaver 3 Hr's (rising senior Mooresville)
and several others with atleast one homerun.

It was a fun show to watch that ended way sooner than should have......

Nice to the the GTCC signees doing well (O'Dell and McKinney) for Kville!!! Also, another GTCC guy, Kevin Sanders led the High Point Legion team in HR's with 15 or 16.

    Rowan Stats

From Mike London at the Salisbury Post---

    Zach Smith (Pitt CC--East Rowan) .490, 46 runs, 51 rbi, 20 2B, 4 3B, 7 HR
    Noah Holmes (ASU--ER) .404, 35 runs, 37 rbi, 11 2B, 9 HR.
    Preston Troutman (ASU--ER) .400 31 runs, 26 rbi, 14 2B, 1 HR, 8 SB
    Hayden Untz (CVCC--WR) .349, 45 runs, 26 rbi, 7 2B, 4 HR.
    Justin Morris (ER, Jr) .345, 38 runs, 23 rbi, 5 2B, 2 HR, 8 SB

    Pitching

    Parker Gobbel (CVCC--ER) 5-0 1.96, 31-17
    Thomas Allen (UNCP--ER) 4-0 4.42, 37-19
    Will Johnson (ER, Jr.) 6-0 4.35, 35-12 3 saves

Zach Smith is having an incredible year. His .490 average is over 153 at bats. He has had multiple game winning and game tying hits. Thomas Allen is rounding into form as he seems to be recovered from the arm injury that sidelined him during East Rowan's playoff run to the State Championship. Parker Gobbel has won his last 20 decisions in high school and legion dating back to 2008.

Don't have season stats on this guy but I'm sure they are solid.

Single game playoff performance worth noting?

    Stephen McKinney (Cary HS '10 / UNC-P) went 6-6 last night with 2hrs, 2doubles, and 2 singles.

Zach Smith (Rowan County) is on a serious roll right now.

I can't figure out why anyone would pitch to Smith right now and I've been saying that since the Mooresville series. His numbers over the last 7 games are mind blowing. Very Trey Holmes like from last summer. Maybe better.
