Anyone notice the increase in glove prices since the A2000 come out, pretty soon a kid will need a $1000.00 worth of equipment to take the field. I remember using the same glove for years and coach supplied the bats and catchers gear. Baseball should be about how a kid performs, not because he has "juiced equipment". It's no wonder inner-city kids dont play baseball, hell I can hardly afford it!

    Green Hornet

Yep, I remember the Green Hornet and having to actually get up off the couch to change the TV Channel from CBS to either ABC or NBC (unless I wanted to tease my brother with static from the UHF)...BUT, the dealer accidentally shipped two gloves and I wanted to try and help someone out before I send it back. I've still got three weeks before my balloon note comes due.:xmas:

Ahhh.....I remember those days of being my dad's 1st remote control and never hearring of a "color" TV. But I will always remember the first show I ever saw in color...amazin'!

By the way, I thought today's parents are used to paying those kind of prices on gloves. Actually, I thought it was a great price for the product. For those that don't know wait to you "must" buy that Italian baseball glove that retails over $450! ..would you buy one? Well, did you ever believe you would buy a "sneaker" and pay $100 for them?

Fair enough, hope you get a buyer. I actually took my son to buy a "A2000" and he decided on a Rawlings "Gold Glove" , thus saving me about a $150.00. He says it's the best glove he has ever had! A glove is a glove and a bat is a bat, the talent lies within the player.
    :cussing:
Look at other sports: Football a player needs cleats and a mouthpiece ($120).
Basketball a player needs a basketball and sneakers($150). Soccer player needs cleats and a ball ($100)
Baseball however is way to expensive. (Cleats-$75, Batting Gloves - $30, Glove - $125 and Bat - $200) now that is very conservative. Most are paying around $1000.00.
Now the Green Hornet wasn't around long, because Kato was the show. And If we keep inflating the cost of equipment our Grandchildren will need a line of credit to play baseball, thats why baseball is declining in popularity, the equipment is Waaayy overpriced. How much do you think Mizuno payed to have that glove made, trust me not very much, but it is well made by skilled and underpaid labor. Baseball is controlled by glove and bat companies and that will eventually make baseball a dying sport.

I think the downfall of the Green Hornet TV series was when Robin held his own against Kato in that famous battle back in the 60's. No way Bruce Lee is going to lose that fight! But, that's a discussion for another message board elsewhere. As far as baseball equipment, I agree with weyco2000: It's getting expensive. I never spent more than $100. on a glove for my son. He found a Derek Jeter Rawlings glove he really liked as a sophomore in HS, & I think he went thru 2 of those in 3 years. I don't even want to think about the money I've spent on bats thru the years. How many times have we all sent back cracked bats to the manufacturer to be replaced? Too many!
