Mooresville wins its first game since a first round home playoff game vs. Sun Valley in 2008. Post below is the scoring summary but the real stars of this game was the Blue Devil defense. RB Brandon Jones had a helluva game too.

    1st
M - 77 yd. pass from Obrien to Lester, Brown XP, 7-0
    M - Brown 17 yd FG, 10

    2nd
M - 51 yd pass from Obrien to Haslett, Brown XP, 17-0 @ the half

    4th
M - 26 yd pass from Obrien to Haslett, Brown XP, 24-0 Final

Mooresville has next week off and travels to Bandys the following week.

    GO BIG BLUE!

This game wasn't decided until there was around four minutes left. Four first half turnovers could have been devastating. Run game/defense is pretty solid. Passing game needs work. Good game to start the season.

    Hard fought for AC

Hard fought win for AC. I know this is just scores mainly but just wanted to give kudos to a great effort in really an ugly game by both teams. Football isn't always pretty, but it's always tough. Both teams fought hard. Both teams have reason to believe that they should've blown the other team away. AC had 3 different chances of Davie turnovers and I don't believe they scored on any of them. They went up 3-0 and then allowed a massive KO return by #4 for Davie to AC 30. Davie has a WR going to Duke, but #4 is the scary one. Davie was able to move the ball numerous times, but AC wouldn't break and made some great interceptions. When Davie was ahead 7-3 and AC was having a rough time moving the ball, I turned to my father & told him we are going to see how the character of this year's team is. The next two plays after that, AC sacked the QB on 3rd down and blocked a FG to keep it 7-3 and those 3 points were the difference in the game. Referees were kinda crazy at times both ways. One time a ruled fumble looked alot like Tom Brady going down with his arm & AC got the ball. Later, AC had QB in grasp, QB throws an awful pass and Latham picks it off and they call roughing the passer and give ball back to Davie.

Last but not least, GREAT HITTING!! Stephen Burns hit the QB for Davie #12 the hardest I've ever saw on a normal play other than special teams with a head of steam. That was one powerful sack. I must say it looked ugly but I believe both these teams have what it takes to be good. Good luck to the War Eagles rest of season & Keep it up Cougars!
