    Two terrific ballplayers, Colby Spivey and Jordan Newsome of Weddington, committed to Wingate today. I hope they got a taste on Saturday what playing baseball @ Wingate is like...it's rockin'!

    Congratulations to both players and their families. I'm looking forward to watching both of these young men this coming year

    No Short comings with the grades here. I believe they really are looking forward to being at Wingate next year. Newsome has a 4.0 and will most likely be getting some academic funds.

    I've watched both play ball since their coach pitch days...through LL, middle school, and HS. They are very deserving of the opportunity to continue playing ball while focusing on obtaining their degree.

    Congratulations to both of them and their families.

    Really really - really cool that two guys that played coach-pitch together at 6 years old - will continue their baseball experience at the college level and enjoy WINGATE for years to come - together.
