This was a good ball game. AC was as good as advertised. They pretty much took it to us in the first half, but we got things going in the second and built a little cushion. Some costly penalties really hurt AC on Mooresville's opening drive of the second half, and then later on in the 4th quarter. I know they had to be frustrated with some things. Mooresville did not help themselves either in the 2nd quarter, snapping the ball over the QB's head and AC falling on it inside the 10 yd line, as well as, getting stuffed on a fake punt inside their own 40, both ended in AC touchdown drives.

Mooresville must now head to unbeaten, 2 time 3A State Champion W. Rowan next Friday. Here's hoping they survive that one with no casualties for things wont get any easier the following week as Mallard Creek comes to town.

I got to meet Wise One in the booth this time. He told me to tell yall HEY!

What a GREAT BALL GAME! I can't believe I picked against my Tigers. Page had us all night. When they scored on a 4th and 14 from the 16 with about 8 minutes left to go up 35-21 I almost left early. But I stuck it out. Ragsdale drove and scored on a Heavner to Erik Romer TD pass with about four minutes left then executed and recovered a perfect on side kick. Heavner hit Anthony Stewart on a 4 yard TD pass with about two minutes left and went for the kick to tie it at 35.

Page then threw an interception on 3rd and ten with just over a minute left - #42 soph Duncan Sparks, getting his first start of the season for an injured player hauled in his second INT of the night. After a couple plays Ragsdale ended up on the 17 and ran the clock down to a second and watched Brad Davis kick a 35 yard FG (his first ever) for the win.

Absolutely amazing ball game and win for Ragsdale.

 

It was great to meet VI, wish I could have spent more time but duty called. Mooresville was the better team tonight. The defense is very good, they put pressure on the Cougars all night and the QB for the Blue Devils is a talent. As usual Mooresville has a lot of athletes but now they have a attitude of we instead of me. Great atmosphere in Mooresville for high school football and from where I'm sitting Mooresville is back.

PS....Great ceremony remembering 9/11 before the game.
