Please answer this for me. I have watched your team many times. I was there to watch you guys play the Carolina Crush SC on Sunday at USC Upstate and was informed that you refused to play them. Siting the reason of not wanting to pitch your pitcher twice in one day even with a 4 hour break? It would have been a great game. That crush team looked really good

What type of tournament? Was it a forfeit? Did the Crush have another team to play?

We ask Coach Pack on Saturday after our last game that if he could find another team to fill our spot for the 4:30 game to do it. But we also told him that if he could not we would stay and play. Sportscritic our pitcher could have pitched that game, that was not the problem. The issue was that our kids had over a two hour drive back to Taylorsville. They would have been getting home around 9:00 pm. So with it being a school night we decided not to play. Sorry you did not get to see that matchup between the Cobras and Crush. And you are right, the Crush has a great team. Hope that answers your question.

....the fishman is a fan of the Cobras, they have been very important in making my kids better by playing against them year after year....so I understand your frustration when some gig like this pops up......but, C'Mon! do whats best for the kids period! We had a Cardinal Classic 23U gig that was pretty much the same thing. I've been involved when we were the team having to travel 2 or 3 hours to get home around 10:00. It does not do our kids any good as far as I'm concerned....AND don't forget that our DDs are worn slap ass out and they sleep all the way home....uhhh only to get home and be wide awake til 3 a.m.!

    Been there done that.

On a good note, Travel ball experiences are cool. We're in Richmond, my DD is on third as a runner, the batter rocks one down the line and hits her square in the facemask, yep....wait check this out, this game was the first time she set foot back on the field after taking a linebacker collision at first base that resulted in her having to go to the hospital and then have her braces cut out of her gums. So, my point in this gig was that for 4 hours, driving home from Richmond, with a DD who just took a "joe frasier" to the head, and was OK, thank GOD!!!, I had the awesome chance to reflect on the stupid stuff that I thought was important about ball and got a "ali" heymaker punch in the brain that made me aprreciate just having a healthy, cool kid.

....and thats the rest of the story

God Bless all of our kids!
