    UNCC vs Greensboro College

Boy, little ol Greensboro College just about beat UNC C. They were ahead at one time and UNCC pulled it out in the 7th. They had to take out Tess because GC was teeing off on her. No doubt, GC would have beat UNCG if they had played them in the same tourament. Look for GC to get to the world series. Hats off to Whitney Gelin for putting together a great team along with great coaching.

Whoa, calm down now, these are scrimmages played so that freshman can get used to this level and so coaches can see what they have and what they need for spring. I wouldnt put too much stock into meaningless scrimmages! I know UNCC pitched two freshman making their first ever college appearances, and played pretty much their whole roster.

thanks, Jheykid!! Tess is a FINE pitcher but like we all know, the collegiate level is a very different beast than high school. She was my daughter's stablemate at ND and I love her like she's my own. Give the freshies a little time here, folks........let 'em get their feet wet before we start the smack talking.

Dang! If we weren't gonna be in Spartanburg for Upstate's tournament this weekend, I'd have to come see this tournament. Good luck and we'll see you the next weekend!

    PS - TCB, '5'!!!!!

You will find a lot of smaller schools can play with larger schools. Some of them are very good games... We (SMC a juco) played Berneau University this weekend in the Furman tourney and tied 4-4. They are a top ten NAIA school full of large school transfers.

Teeing Off 3 singles is not what most people consider teeing off
