    Hi there,
My daughter plays high school softball. She just started the 9th grade and due to NCAA regulations she can no longer work with her college pitching coach. Can anyone recommend at good hitting coach in the Greensboro area or within a 45 min radius of Greensboro.

    what regulation...

Collegiate coaches are allowed to give instruction. A coach may teach private lessons to a prospective student-athlete provided criteria detailed in the NCAA manual, bylaw 11.3.2 are satisfied.
    11.3.2 states
    1. coach makes lessons available to general public
    2. fees charged to the prospect are at a rate commensurate with fees charged to all individuals.
    3. prior written documentation is provided annually to school AD / athletic dept. of fees charged.
    4. fees charged to the prospective athlete are not paid by individuals or entities other than the prospective student-athlete's parents or guardian.

That being said, come to Grand Slam in Raleigh... Veronica Wootsen-Ross,
3x All American at Florida State and 2007 MVP of the NPF when she played with the Akron Racers.. Owns FSU career home-run record with 29 bombs.. If their was an Olympic team in 2012, she would be the 2nd baseman...

I would recommend you go to the NC Baseball Academy on Pleasant Ridge Rd in Greensboro. Those guys know their stuff, and have helped two of my players this year. Well worth it in my opinion.

    response from another college coach

i had this response from a prominent, very well known college coach who wishes to remain in the back ground.....

D1 Manual actually states nothing about private lessons-

11.3.2 Income in Addition to Institutional Salary.
11.3.2.1 Bona Fide Outside Employment. A staff member may earn income in
    addition to the institutional
salary by performing services for outside groups. (Revised: 1/10/92, 4/26/01
    effective 8/1/01)
11.3.2.2 Supplemental Pay. An outside source is prohibited from paying or
    regularly supplementing an
athletics department staff member’s annual salary and from arranging to
supplement that salary for an unspecified
achievement. This includes the donation of cash from outside sources to the
    institution earmarked
for the staff member’s salary or supplemental income. It would be permissible
for an outside source to donate
funds to the institution to be used as determined by the institution, and it
    would be permissible for the
institution, at its sole discretion, to use such funds to pay or supplement a
    staff member’s salary.

student-athletes on promotional items is limited
to institutionally controlled activities involving the sale of official
institutional publications and team or individual
pictures by the institution. This restriction shall apply even if the
promotional item is provided without charge to the
public by an outside individual or commercial business that produces or
purchases the item through the assistance
    of the institution’s staff member.
11.3.2.2 Recruiting Service Consultants. Institutional athletics department

I give hitting lessons in the NC area. I was a two time D1 All-American and have secured college playing opportunities for all the girls I have worked with. Send me a private message for more information and if you are interested. Hitting is my passion and I would love to work with your daughter.
