I'm glad your school is doing that for your girls.

The SC 2010 AAAA State Champions got their rings during a meeting in the coaches office before school started.

    I hear you!

In some places a nose ring brings headlines while wonderful accomplishments such as these are barely mentioned.

Congratulations to your team and to East Surry!

Those recognized individually are Kelsey Wilson, Brooke Bowman, Christian Smith, Elizabeth Isaacs, Haley Shelton, Hannah Merritt, Jessica Barker, Morgan Chilton, Paula Kiser, Samantha Smith, Sara Scott and Sarah Horton.

The girls got game Academic Awards program honors both collegiate and high school teams for their submitted GPAs for the 2009-10 academic year. As a second component of the program, all submitted student-athletes who achieved a 3.50 GPA during last academic year are named as girls got game/NFCA Scholar Athletes.

In the high school categories, Splendora High School from Texas took top honors amongst teams with weighted GPAs with a 4.592, while Arlington High School in Nebraska was the leader amongst non-weighted schools with a GPA of 3.836.
