Not to be out done by Doc Halladay...........

CBC Diamond Rats Army RHP John Piedmonte, 2012 Hough HS, threw a complete seven-inning perfect game in a 2-0 win over the Tri-State Arsenal NJ today. He struck out 13 and topped out at 86 mph.

Coach Jake Robbins said it was AMAZING to watch the masterpiece. "this was the best performance in a big game situation I have been apart of. We preach getting ahead with strike 1 and Johnny did it to 17 of 21 batters. He can throw any pitch in any count which makes it very difficult on the hitters. I have enjoyed the development process with Johnny and look forward to watching him for years to come with his best days still ahead. He will reach his full potential because he has a determination to be the best." said Robbins via text.

    Familiar Foes

Should be an exciting game - hope it is "error free" and comes down to the last pitch.

Wood bats are a pitcher's best friend. Lots of tooth picks being made in FM.

You got your wish...it came down to the last pitch. After a hard fought game, the Canes won with a walkoff single in the 7th.

    taking cuts but no contact

heard a great stat after SF 's Tim Lincecum's opening game NLDS shutout of the Braves. The most "swings with no contact" by a pitcher in a MLB game this season was 26. Lincecum had 31.
