LOL, was that you down there doing the boogaloo?

This was as good a game as Mooresville has played all season, being as it was against a legitimate I-Meck 4A power. The Blue Devil defensive unit was once again the stars of the game, stuffing Hopewell at every turn. Nobody could have seen this coming, nobody except for the coaching staff and the players. Hats off to them for implimenting a near perfect game plan. Its been a while since we've had this feeling.

    GO BIG BLUE!

Cougars go up 41-0 early in 3rd quarter and play everybody including a few from the Homecoming Court. AC gets 500 yards on the ground and go to 6-2, 3-0 Tanner Miller is a good qb for St Stephens, he was under heavy pressure all night and didn't quit.

The Crowd at AC last year for Hibriten/AC was probably about the biggest from both sides as I've seen. Most of the time you have one team pull the entire crowd. Amen to that. Speed kills. That's just something you can't coach. I hope everyone enjoyed the games tonight. I enjoyed myself at revival meeting!

    Ragsdale 24 NW Guilford 21

Spectacular football game. Very hard fought game. #10 for NWG is a helluva player. Ragsdale was down 14-6 at the half but they came back, toughened up and toughed out a huge win in the second half.

NWG got the ball to start the third and Ragsdale held them to 3 and out then scored in 3 plays and made the two point conversion to tie it up. Those two series were the keys in the ball game IMO. To NWG credit they came back after another three and out and on third down from their six found Baxter (#10) who hit the corner and busted it 94 yards for the TD.

But Ragsdale wouldn’t quit. Heavner found his receivers when he needed them – Briley, Shouse and Stewart and Barry Brown ran tough all night and got a TD to tie it early in the fourth. Ragsdale D played so much better in the second half. Boykin, Anderson, Walker and Norwood really know how to make half time adjustments.

Brad Davis came through with his third FG from 34 yards out with about six minutes left to secure the win. He’s the player of the game for me. Of course Barry Brown with the tying TD and over 130 yards rushing is hard to pass over.

NWG fought back – converted some big third and fourth downs but a couple holding penalties kept them out of FG range and Ragsdale finally got the stop.

Karson Redfern with a big punt with 33 seconds left and then the hit and fumble kept NWG from getting one more shot. Other than the late fumble and interception and the couple of holding penalties it was a very clean, well played game by both teams.

You really have to love how well this Tiger team is playing after losing so many starters from last years team. They are getting lots of contributions from kids that would probably be on JV in most years. 8-1, 4-0 and just two more games to go to wrap up another conference title.

Next week is open and they get to go scout Glenn @ HP Central - their last two opponents.
