Unless it has changed, parents and players are told by Dirtbag coaches that there may be a chance that not everyone on the roster will attend East Cobb or Jupiter. And, in the past that has occurred. I don't have a problem with it since you are told up front. Maybe this year it didn't happen. Great. But there's no need to act as if other organizations are somehow less relevant because they've had extra players. Both the Canes and Dirtbag rosters have usually included kids from out of state.

That's good. Also, I believe the series needs to be held down east so all the Charlotte folks have to drive 4 hours to attend. (Hey, it works for the NCHSAA)

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Please let this be the LAST POST on this Thread. The only thing that was PROVEN without question in the 101 posts that followed mine was the comment I made in the first place!

    :lmao:

Cut the horseshit, son. I've got their disciplinary files right here. Who dropped a whole truckload of fizzies into the swim meet? Who delivered the medical school cadavers to the alumni dinner? Ain't no hatin goin on here

I just went back and read over the posts from page 1 to here. I don't see any hatin going on. I believe that's what your aim was to have happen but don't see it. Posturing and braggin, yes. Insults and hatin, no. Some misinformation from proud but unknowlegeable parents, yes. Example: "They were all NC kids from June through Jupiter." I guess the SC kids weren't officially part of the team? Even this statement is not hatin.
The NC parents all like to think that the Canes are a NC team as well and while the majority of one are NC kids, they are listed at every tourney I've ever been involved with as a Virginia team. Now you can take this post right here as hatin too but only in your mind.

So although this may be a record breaking thread for number of posts lets not have it end with somebody insisting hate existed anywhere in the preceding comments.

Congrats to all the kids involved for a great year, and yes, they do make for some of the best youth players not only in the SE but the country. So now let's get ready for some great high school ball with even more great rivalries.

    Read Them Again

I went back and reread too. Here are a few excerpts:

Too many ego's. Dirtbags only play impact tournaments and Canes ACPB tournaments. In the end they play the same teams every weekend. Somethings got to give as players tired of playing same teams every weekend.

That wont happen b/c certain people wont make any money off it or it would cost them money.

Dont take this the way it sounds but who is good in the impact events?

Everyone wants to play for a "winner", but it is nice to earn the respect of those around you by doing it the right way.

I think Shut out was refering to the fact that none of your top teams in the state SCP, On Deck O's, NCBA, Canes, Heat, and now Cubs play vs the Dirtbags b/c they dont want to have anything to do with it

Stop living in the past. There are other programs out there that are as good as you are now. Deal with it and get over it.

The thread started out as a congratulation thread for the DIRTBAGS and look at the turn it made. All this negativity about the Bags sounds to me like a bunch of jealous people. Everyone says: it is about the kids: by some of these messages i have read it is all about your kid.

Old timers could see this thread coming the minute the "Bags" won the championship... it's like eatin' too much collards, you know you (and everyone around you) are gonna have to deal with some gas!

AP's alumni list is a who's-who when it comes to top tier players which he likes to frequently point out.

Just win 1 more and you will be tied with the canes. Try not to tie the next one though.

First of all, I think a more accurate statement is to say "Co-Champions of Jupiter". If we are gonna use facts, let's use them across the board - not just when they fit your argument.

With that being said, there is a reason most of the other prominent showcase teams do not play Impact tourneys. You don't see SCP, On Deck, Heat, etc. in any of their tourneys. You gotta wonder why that is. Most of us know why...

Canes won the big one... twice!!! 2009 and 2010 16u WWBA Champions!! Thats right, Back-2-Back Champions... not Co-Champions!

'I am amazed at how quickly this thread headed to the gutter. There are a number of great showcase organizations in the state including all mentioned [in this thread] and others that weren't. It is funny - the kids all get along and are genuinely glad for each other's successes. It's a shame the adults can't do the same.

Good try. I stand by what I said. Posturing and boasting but nothing hatefull.
You're reaching pretty far with the quotes you selected, many which are out of context. I agree that some are fairly lame, some defensive, some braggin, but not hateful.
I also notice that the selected quotes are lopsided in one direction. I could pluck as many in the opposite direction. I could also point out that what started out as fairly positive congratulatory post by you concluded with something like " if you thought the hatin was bad before, you ain't seen nothin yet". I could also point out the first controversial post ,5 comments in, was, "and what makes it better is the Canes got destroyed by the same team". But leaving it in context, a few posts later the poster admitted he was joking. I take him at his word but between your introductory post provoking negative comments and this one the one-upmanship took over.
I'm putting the whole thing down to nothing more than the same that would happin if you put 30 friends in a room with half being Yankee fans and the others being Red Sox fans.

If lookin at everything that was said was "hate" and it gives you a warm content fuzzy feelin inside that you called it, good for you.

They were all NC kids from June through Jupiter - no players who play high school ball in SC, a couple who committed to SC but attend high school and play high school ball in NC - this is what I meant by that comment earlier. And as I review I found I was wrong - we had one player who played in a few events, an IF/OF who lives in Ohio and attends high school there. He has a family connection to some of the Bags coaches and that is how that came about. But there were never any players on the Dirtbags team who live in or play their high school baseball in SC

Lefty - My mistake also. No 'hate' intended.:N1OopsHL:Anyway, onto enjoy my son's last year of high school ball. Good luck to all the boys of summer as they 'all' are top notch and proved it to the entire country over the last couple years. It was a blast no matter who you played for!

    Peace out

30 "friends" half Yankee fans, half Red Sox fans... now that would be a challenge!

This has been an interesting thread, and had moved all around the topic...but hey, it's Hot Stove time and I never felt there was "hatin"...just some difference of opinions among members. But leave it to a Mom to get a right---it ain't about the parents.

This thread has served it's time..it's now time to end it.

    Thank you for the posts.
