Question for the experienced. Since Georgia plays their high school ball in the fall, what do the teams and players do during the spring when everyone else is playing school ball? Not to mention the fact that colleges are tied up with their season and cant see any showcase tourneys even if there is any in Georgia in the spring.

I don't know for sure, but I would think they would play another sport like volleyball or what ever their spring sport would be. I know they all wouldn't, but I'm sure some do. I wish our high schools played fall softball, it just makes more sence to me. Play a indoor sport in Feb. and March..... Just my opinion though.

There are tons of tourneys in Georgia in the spring, in fact if you look alot of ASA qualifiers are held there in spring giving them a huge adavantage qualifying for nationals. Once the Carolinas start their qualifiers in June you will only see those Georgia teams show that haven't already qualified. This has been a sore subject for years, because of the number of teams registered in Georgia, and to a certain extent they plan their qualifiers knowing surrounding states can't participate!!!

You will find some tournaments in Western SC during the spring with older age groups to cater to the Georgia teams and the occasional SC team that will play during school.

But, yeah, Georgia has more tournaments in the spring than the Carolinas have in the fall.

They play other sports and train for travel ball until that starts up. NC needs to go to Fall softball especially with the wet winters we have had the past few years. Just makes more sense I agree-plus gives the girls a chance to go right from travel summer ball into HS-win win.
