I've always been a HUGE fan of JUCO baseball and SMC is one of the top dogs around in that classification, year in and year out. Give it a look guys!

This should be a great camp. Monte Lee was the hitting coach at SMC before moving on USC and now C of C. Bubba Dorman has coached at USC Upstate, Wofford, Newberry, and is now head coach at USC Salkahatchie. And Tim Wallace is also a great hitting coach in his own right. Who do you think taught these other guys? ;-)

This camp should be great from an exposure perspective as well. Anyone who know Tim Wallace will tell you that with him "it's all about the hitting", so I guarantee you he will be keeping a eye out for potential recruits, as will Bubba Dorman and Monte Lee. And on top of that you've got Chris Kemp who now scouts for the Rangers.

You can't go wrong with this one guys.

What do all these Division 1 programs have in common?
    South Carolina
    Clemson
    Tennessee
    Kentucky
    College of Charleston
    Georgia Southern
    Coastal Carolina
    Western Carolina
    UNC-Wilmington
    Charleston Southern
    Furman
..........................they have all signed players out of Spartanburg Methodist at some point in the last 4 years. Just go and take one look at the resume of Head Coach Tim Wallace you'll understand why. I let those numbers speak for themselves.

    MLB
2008 -OF Allen Caldwell - 12th rd pick - Kansas City Royals
2009 -CF Travis Witherspoon - 12th rd pick - Los Angeles Angels

2010 -RHP Heath Hembree - 5th rd pick out of College of Charleston by the SF Giants was at Spartanburg Methodist the year prior.

2010 -SS Taylor Black - 27th rd pick out of Kentucky by St. Louis Cardinals was at Spartnburg Methodist the year prior.

Former head coach Lon Joyce is an area scout with Los Angeles Dodgers
Former assistant coach Chris Kemp is an area scout with Texas Rangers
NY Mets area scout Marlin McPhail's son, Ryan has signed to play at SMC

Oh yea...... Reggie Sanders and Orlando Hudson played there too.

I wouldn't miss this camp if I were a HS hitter. Do your research on this school. It's worth it.
