    why I go to church............

Just touching all the bases: I go along with the prayer of the Agnostic: " Dear god (if there is a god"), save my soul (if I have a soul).

    Can't go wrong with that.

That would be a great line-up. The only change i would do is put Ozzie Smith at ShortStop since that line-up would score a ton of runs and i would want a strong defensive team up the middle. A QUESTION FOR THE READERS?
Who do you think is wrong? Jeter's and his agent or the Yankees front Office. Jeter has made close to 200 million already from the Yankees and his agent wants a crazy amount for a player who is in the twilight of his HOF career. Loyalty goes both ways and i believe both parties has benefited from each other. I think that Jeter or his Agent is wrong this time for asking for so much. What do you guys and ladies think?

I can't argue with this lineup, but I've always thought that Brooks Robinson was the greatest 3rd baseman of all-time. I realize that he didn't have the offensive numbers that several others had, but defensively he was definately the best. These days, teams are looking for power-hitting types on the corners, like Schmidt and Pujols.

Weighing in on Jeter: No way he goes anywhere else. They'll negotiate and cause a little stir in the news media for a few weeks, and then both sides will meet each other in the middle. Yanks will probadly up the offer from $45 million over 3 years to $52-$54 million (still only 3 years).

    the Jeter issue..........

The Yankees don't owe Jeter a thing and Jeter does not owe the Yankees a thing. It continues to be a business and if they agree to a contract, it ought to be $$ based on what jeter is likely to contribute in 2011. His contributions on the field definitely are diminishing and he is approaching Farve years. He ought to quit before that sad time comes.

    Tris Speaker
    Ty Cobb
    Babe Ruth
    Honus Wagner
    Walter Johnson
    Cy Young
    etc, etc.
