I wouldn't say NW should win the conference just yet. There are alot of questions to be answered about what line-up will take the field. I do think NW will be competitive but I'm not sure they'll win the conference.

 

Landon Hubbard will take over the catching duties, I assume...dang good ballplayer. Don't forget Micheal Hagwood who probably moves to third and Tanner Bigham to second. I would say that's a solid team...JD?

 

Hagwood has moved away and I doubt he would have played 3rd if he was still here. Good athlete but communication issues would have hampered him playing infield. He had really seemed to have found his niche in the outfield.

 

Sorry wasn't aware, however,I would disagree on "the communication" issue. Could be a issue at middle infield, but not third. I've watched the kid since he was 8 and he had no problems with signs from the catcher, it probably helped him by not hearing 9 guys yelling 9 different things.

Looks like only 1 team out of the 8 SPC teams won't compete this year for a state playoff berth........strong conference.....who would be the 1 team that won't be competitive ?

 

athenry22, I believe weyco2000 actually posted that NW would win the SPC and several would vie for state playoffs in one of his post. Maybe he could tell us his thoughts on who's the odd team out?

 

I don't think he moved away...I think he is enrolled at Gardner Webb

 

Cox Mill?? While much improved and I love their energy, they are not there YET. However, they will win more games and be much better than last year.
