PONY NATIONAL TOURNAMENT - 2011 - All Age Groups In Cary!

The North Carolina Challengers and the Raleigh Jaycees are proud to announce their co-sponsorship of the 2011 PONY NATIONAL TOURNAMENT!!!

For the first time ever, all age groups (10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U) will be held in North Carolina (Cary, Holly Springs, Garner, and Morrisville). The tournament features a six (6) game guarantee and fairly long game times.

The 10U, 12U, and 14U age groups will begin Friday, July 22 and run through Thursday, July 28.

The 16U and 18U age groups will begin play on Monday, July 25 and conclude with champions being crowned on Friday, July 29. Each team will play three (3) showcase games on Monday, and double elimination play will start on Tuesday, concluding with a single elimination tournament with the winners of each sub-bracket.

Opening ceremonies for all age groups will be on Sunday, July 24, 4PM at Lake Benson Park in Garner.

If your team, or multiple teams in your organization, are interested in attending this National Tournament, please visit the PONY Nationals website: www.ponynationals2011.com or please contact Adam Renzi, Tournament Host, at [email protected] or 919.923.9897.

There will be a PONY National Qualifier held on the weekend of May 21-22 in Cary for teams looking to qualify (please visit the seperate thread on that topic). If a team absolutely cannot attend this qualifier, it's concieveable that we may be able to provide a 'hardship case' berth to your team.

Lets get a big turnout from the Southeast and begin to restore this tournament to softball prominence on the East Coast! We hope to see you there!!!

2011 NCASA and our Carolina Cardinals tournamnents

    Coaches,
Just a heads up on our upcoming 2011 tournaments.
NC ASA has the 18U A Regional, 18A Hall of Fame, and the Gold Regional this year. They all will be played in Cary June 3-5. All carry 2 berths. I had misinformed folks about the berths for Gold. It has 2 berths, not 1. Entry forms are available on the www.ncasafastpitch.com website message board.
The 2011 Cardinals tournaments are as follows:
Carolina Cardinals Early Bird June 10-12, Rock Hill, SC
Carolina Cardinals East Coast Fireworks July 8-10, Rock Hill, SC
Carolina Cardinals Classic July 22-24, Raleigh, NC
Carolina Cardinals Late Summer Aug. 12-14, Rock Hill, SC
Carolina Cardinals Ray Chandler Memorial Sept. 23 - 25, Rock Hill, SC
All are showcases. The Early Bird, Classic, and Late Summer are 5GG pool play...The EC Fireworks and Ray Chandler Memorial will be 4GG pool followed by single elimination.
During the Ray Chandler Memorial, we will award four (4) young ladies, $1000.00 college scholarships.

All Cardinal tournament forms are available on the www.carolinacardinals.com website.
    Thanks for your interest.

Pitch for the Cure Double NIT & Crystl Bustos Clinics - Great Prize Pkgs

    Pitch for the Cure Description:

Pitch for the Cure is a girls' fastpitch softball tournament that raises funds for Chicks Charities but also has additional global ambitions attached to it. We connect regional youth to fight against breast cancer and empower girls to be active for change in their communities.

The 6th Annual Pitch for the Cure is presented by Northwest Arkansas Fastpitch Softball Association dba Springdale Chicks, in special partnership with Susan G. Komen for the Cure Ozark Affiliate.

Since creating and presenting the first Pitch for the Cure in 2006, we've raised $100,000 for Susan. G. Komen for the Cure. Our event donates 20% of all profits plus some of our weekend activities bring in fundraising dollars that are donated 100% to Komen.

    Hi everyone~

The above description from our website was included for anyone that hasn't been to PFTC or our site. We'll host more than 160 team in 8UMP and 10U-18U brackets from at least 4 states.

I am happy to make new announcements for our 2011 PFTC event...

Besides close to 400 girls' fastpitch games, we'll be hosting several clinics during our event weekend with 3-time Olympic medalist Crystl Bustos, her personal hitting instructor Howard Carrier and former University of Missouri Tiger and Akron Racer Micaela Minner!

Pitch for the Cure will also be awarding more USSSA points this year! Not only do we return as a NIT event again, but we are a DOUBLE POINT NIT...and the USSSA point scale has increased for NIT events! Example: 1st place is now 225 instead of 150. If you double that at PFTC, you're at 450 points for 1st place teams!! (There are also more points deeper on the scale, which is great for an event the size of ours.)

You can see more info at 2011 New Stuff. The new point chart is shown. It also talks about a coach/parent clinic on Friday afternoon and PFTC player only clinics on Saturday. Sunday there will be two player clinics that are open to all players on Sunday, such as players who's teams didn't make it into the event or community players or in other areas.

The site will be updated with a clinic flyer soon. We are holding player clinic registration until February so that teams can start to register...but space is limited. You can join us on all the normal social media hangouts or on our online newsletter to get the registration details! (Social)

And one other note... Team registration is open

    Hope to see you there!

(Check out our website for our great prize packages, including paid World Series entries and team helmets!)

    ASA Children's Benefit Tournaments

NC ASA Girls Fast Pitch and NC NSA Girls Fast Pitch Associations are joining together to give back to the communities. On March 19-20, 2011, ASA will host the tournament in Pilot Mountain and NSA will host the tournament in Salisbury. NSA and ASA will be doing a pre t-shirt order for this event to all teams that participate. ASA will be giving a portion of the entry fees and all the proceeds from tournament t-shirts to the Children’s Center of Surry County. This organization supports abandoned and under privileged children in Surry County. There will also be some other ways for teams to donate to these worthy causes during the tournaments. Buster and Howard are asking teams to please play in these events to help ASA/NSA raise money for these worthwhile agencies. For the Pilot Mountain Tournament information call Buster Everette at (336) 367-7493. For the Salisbury tournament information contact Howard Edwards at [email protected] or call 704-202-8584. We look forward to your team playing in one of these tournaments to support this worthwhile cause.
