Should be a tight conference with the winner having 2-3 loses in conference. It will depend on match ups and how the pitching rotation lays out.

    South Wayne
    Eastern Wayne
    Aycock
South Johnston (not sure what they have other than 2 good starting pitchers) If they have some other player move them up more.
    N. Lenoir
    Triton
    Clevand

Aycock & Eastern Wayne lost alot of talent from last season. Year-end & year-out, these two are pretty strong, but it appears to me that both will be rebuilding. Some new guys are going to have to step up for both schools.
    Key losses:
Aycock: Narron, McGee, Carmel, Hollowell, Eric Dubose, Ruffin, and Quinn
Eastern Wayne: Frederick, Moye, Fulghum, Ponce, Faucette, and Newsome.

Aycock returns more pitching with Derek Limbaugh, Bryant Stafford, and Aaron Champion all back from last year. Jonathon Taylor, Colin Dubose, and Tyler Farmer are also back as well, so Charles Davis has a team he can contend with again.
Eastern Wayne returns Zach Mozingo, who still is only a Junior this year, but they've got alot of holes to fill everywhere.

The team that should really be good this year in the ECC is Southern Wayne. If I remember correctly, they didn't lose a single player off of last year's team. I don't know all the names (Kevin Wise, Cody Davis, Zach Grantham, etc), but they all return, which is usually a good problem for a head coach to have. They should be tough.

Southern Wayne will have a good hitting team. Defense will make some errors and pitching is adequate. Very streaky team.

Eatern Wayne has Mozingo will win most/all of his games if they can score runs for him. The problem is the second pitcher. They have a transfer from Spring Creek, lefty that will help. He can throw against the weaker teams in the conference. So record they will be toward the top. Won't go deep in playoffs because not enough good pitching that can get guys out. They won't be the most talented team but will get better because of the competition they play. They have a bunch of adequate players with little experience. Jabo will have them ready.

Aycock will be led by Stafford, Champion, Limbaugh, Dubose, and pate for pitching. They should be good hitting 1-7 in the line up. Taylor and Farmer should lead the hitting power. Very good players offense and defense. Farmer will control the outfield, and Taylor will control the plate. Will be hard to steal off Taylor he has one of the best pop times in the state and a wall behind the plate. Infield should be solid. The only problem will be the new guys filling in the hitting line-up. Can they hit in the bottom of the line- up

    South Johnson need more information.

these should be the top four teams battling out for 1-4

This is by far one of the most competitive conferences at the highest level in baseball. It was a treat last year for Triton fans to see this kind of talent after leaving the football heavy CFV.

Even though they lost a few of their top players (Narron, Hollowell, etc.)Aycock seems to be one of the favorites in my opinion. The returning players swing the bats very well and I caught a glimpse of their JV's last year and they seem to be ready for the next level no doubt.

Not sure how EW will handle the departure of sooo many studs, but one things for sure, when 21 is on the mound they are damn good and will win MOST of their matchups.

Southern Wayne is scary to me. Very young last year but most of that young talent was good young talent. Very well coached (as is ALL of the ECC teams) and if they jump on you from the get go, look out.

Not to sure about NL. Streaky last season but with teams with tradition are always scary to me.

Now to my neck of the woods...

SJ is good. They return a lot of players from last season with the exception of their starting SS. Jernigan is the real deal. Glad he is finally a senior. Very poised on the mound and like Mozingo he will most of his starts. Also in my opinion have the top catcher in the conference. Can't remember his name but is very fun to watch. They also return a lot of power at the plate.

Triton will be very, very young. Lost most of their starters from last season but have some good young talent. Looking at a few freshman and sophomores in the lineup but one things for sure, they are good, but with youth comes time. They will have to mature fast to have any success in the ECC.

Cleveland. I am originally from this area and they have traditionally been loaded with talent. Obviously, fielding a JV team on a varsity level is going to prevent them from making a statement in such a strong conference, but look out for them in the future. Travel ball (aau) around that area has been very strong since back in the 80's. I can see them competing in a few years if this version of the ECC stays like it is after the next realignment.

Aycock has a very good catcher (Taylor) with the best pop time in the conference and very accurate. When you see him play you may reconsider who you think has the best catcher.

Not yet, I don't think. Like his game a lot. He will find a home.

He's got one division I team that is interested hasn't offered yet because waiting to see if their catcher is going pro. He has a couple of the top junior colleges that have offered him and about 5 division II. None of these schools have seen him catch much some none at all. They have heard about him from some coaches. He can play so many positions well that he gets over looked at his best position catcher, because he plays where the coaches need him to make the team better.
