Hey guys I don't know how many of you guys out there have connections with colleges or even know my son Dylan Brown the catcher from Rockingham County but he has played and loved baseball his whole life and is now a senior and has had alot of looks from schools around NC has great stats in baseball and grades but still no one has offered him a place to play. The guys he has played with and against his whole life and done well against the pitchers he has faced are getting offers to play in d1 & d2 schools but we still haven't heard anything and now he is starting to lose faith that he is going to get to play in college. So if you know Dylan and can give him any recomendations or advice please do so.

Thanks to all you guys here at TBR,
    Dad

Hopefully he is playing some kind of Showcase baseball. If not you might want took into it asap! I would contact CBC/On Deck baseball here in Charlotte and talk to them. I know its a long drive from where you are, but I don't believe you would be disappointed! If nothing else, those guys there will give you the very best advise as to what to do and to hopefully get your son more exposure! My son had offers because of his High School experience, but the better ones came from being associated with CBC! Good luck!

That is good advice, phillydave. What do you think about their contacting the Panthers as well? i just don't know how they get their players. i would think lots of teams can always use a skilled catcher. Also, the young man should be writing to schools.

He also needs to remember that this is a quiet period until 3/1. He may begin to hear more then as players commit or wont commit. Offers are out now to many players but due to many factors many will become open. It may be grades, injury, finances, or a player may have several offers. Once all this is figured out there will be more offers coming.

Bingo!!!!!....this is when a well connected HS coach should help, too.

Also, I would recommend that you contact Freddy Suggs. He is a member of this board. If Freddy likes him, he will find a school.

Yep, I would contact the Panthers as well! That organization is without a doubt one of the best in the area. I know that many families did in fact send out letters to schools (Michael did) and I feel that it definitely can't hurt! One thing I want to bring up, ..... don't forget about JUCO schools as well. There are some out there that have tremendous baseball programs that are affiliated with major D1 schools. That is what our son we did! I have said this before and will say it again, "the D1 JUCO teams that I have seen have better talent (IMO) than most D2 schools that I have seen. Don't give up yet, a lot of kids don't sign until the spring anyway!
