    Honeycutt boys

I was sitting with their dad yesterday watching Weddington play. Junior Peyden Honeycutt went yard for his first one of many to come this season. Then the call came that son Taylor went yard for Wingate yesterday too.

    A son back to backer.

Michael is playing his first year of College ball at USC-Sumter. During the intrasquad games prior to the season starting, he threw a total of 6 innings, 5 K's with no runs or hits allowed. Not bad considering the two major surgeries (one being TJ) he had to go through during his high school years. He will be used this year as a reliever!

Way to go Michael! He's going to dominate this year, I can feel it!

UNCW lost 3-game series with Jacksonville U 1-2. Good news: Michael Bass (sophomore) started each game in centerfield (HS SS/P--UNCW freshman 3rd/2nd) and as leadoff batter. Started each game with a hit. First game lead off with the triple. For series: 6 hits, 3B, 2B, 3SB, and 4RBIs and 4 runs,

    FINAL YEAR

Well, the senior season has arrived and it's oh so bittersweet... not sure how I'll make it through it, but we always do ;)

He started on the mound 2nd game of the series on Friday and, after a rough 1st inning against ranked pitcher Talley at the Citadel, settled in for 4 scoreless innings (actually outlasting Talley by an out ;) ;) ). Got the game scorecard afterwards from the coaches, so we keep our fingers crossed that that's a positive gesture.

My hope and prayer is that he stays healthy and plays to the very best of his ability this season, leaving nothing on the table .... if the next level isn't in the cards, then he will have given everything he has, never letting up, never giving in, and can look back knowing that he did his best with the deck he was dealt.

Thank you, TBR, for allowing me to champion him and his teams over the last 7 years - as always, your forum is the best!

    Thanks Prepster and Catcher10

It is exciting to see such a young group of guys go out and perform like that. Greg did his part but he would like the 1-2 pitch back against Fullerton. But striking the next kid out to end the inning showed something. But overall 4 2/3 with 8 K's against that competition is a good start. Wow, this board is awesome. So many great players doing great things. Diesel is right. ECU is one heck of place to play baseball. It was Youngstown State and the place held around 4,000 for each game. It so crowded that the parents of the players got the worst seats in the house. So many great supporters. Chase, Jack and Drew did a great job. Chase's homerun on Sunday left the jungle on one hop. Mad power. Thanks for having this thread. It's alot of fun to see how well everyone is doing. Keep it up.

Great start for Alex. I wish him well on a great season. Tell Mikal good luck this season. You have two great players. Enjoy the season.

It's a wonderful family - to be sure. I couldn't be happier that my son chose ECU as his baseball home for the next few years. Freshman starting shortstop for ECU baseball - be still my heart...
