    Cuthbertson 8 - JM Robison 0 >No-No Tonight

It was the first game for Cuthbertson and the first No-No from the bump! Peter Hendel (2011-UNC) threw his first No-No of the season with 15 K's and 1 walk. I swear his velocity has jumped another 3 - 5 mph's. Coach Forbes should be excited about this one.
Breaking out the offense was pretty much the entire order, 1 - 9. Everybody on the team did their part for this first win of the season. We did have JD Long, John Mangum, Andrew Hendel, Austin Pierce, Kevin Boyle, and Brian Fallick with doubles.

    Ragsdale 9 W Guilford 3

not a ton of details. Mitch Carstens started and went four innings. Duncan Sparks pitched three innings of scoreless relief. Brandon Walker hit a grand slam to get Ragsdale on the board in the second inning. 1-0 on the season with Central Davidson at home tomorrow.

Might be the only detail Ragsdale report we get this year since I have a kid playing JV and won't catch many varsity games this year. Ragsdale lost a ton of talent off last year's squad but they look to have a solid group this year.

JV won 8-2 tonight. They hit the ball well and had a good looking freshman pitching tonight.

    Good start to the season.

Shout out for some former MATTHEWS SLAMMERS

So excited from the early season effort from some of the recent past Matthews Slammers (2007-2010)

    Dalton Eisenbath Butler - Charlotte Hurricanes 2012 5IP 0H vs. N. Meck
Alec Hummel Butler - Charlotte Hurricanes 2012
AJ Larson Butler - SCP 2012

    Jeremy Schellhorn Weddington - SCP 2012/2013 5IP 4H 3K vs. AK
Alex Bostic Weddington - SCP 2013 2IP 0ER vs. AK

Colby Barnette Piedmont - SCP 2013 1ER vs. Marvin Ridge

    Earl Oliver South Meck

    Danny Ryan Catholic
    Nick Ilario Catholic
    Jack Brodowicz Catholic

    Austin Pierce Cuthberson

    Zach Blaylock Myers Park

Most of these boys are sophomores, a few juniors...

I'm sure I missed a few, but wow, these fine young men have make a nice impact to their teams both athletically and academically. As far as I know,
most carry a 3.3 to 4.3 GPA. As we grew up together each player agreed to "Win or Lose" to play for "HIS" Glory. We would not have had it any other way.

Special thanks to Head Coaches Jerry Schellhorn, Jimmy Hummel
assistants Gary Larson and Dave Eisenbath

Thanks for listening to a proud daddy brag, hope everyone's season remains safe and prosperous. See ya at the field.

    Lake Norman

Lake Norman opened its season with a win last night against South Iredell, 15-2. Was a close game, score was 4-2, until the top of the 5th when Lake Norman put up 11 runs. Taylor Thurber (Sr.), started and threw 4 innings, allowing 3 hits and 10k's. South started Colby Dishman (Jr.), who threw well in the loss. Leading Hitters for Lake Norman were Drew McNeil 3-4 and Jack Edmiston 2-2 with a HR. Jesse Seaford was 2-3 2B, Ian Edmiston and Dakota Brantley each added a hit for the Wildcats.

travis, agreed, this Friday is awful early for a game that will have a playoff (and I mean deep playoff) feel. By chance can you make it?
