Pitt Community College has started pretty well this year. They are 14-1 and ranked #12 in the latest PG poll. They have outscored their opponents 199-50, and their opponents cumulative ERA is 16.45. I'm sure all this will even out as the season goes along, but that is pretty strong.

Ryan Stetson is batting .411. Now here is the thing that boggles my mind. Of the regular starters he has the 7th best batting average....unbelievable.:hurray:

Will be a good series. Louisburg took 3 of 4 last year from Pitt.

As expected, this was a closely matched series. Pitt managed to sweep Louisburg 3-0, 4-1, 8-5(8 innings) and 10-6.

Pitt also got very good starting pitching this weekend. I think all their starters went at least 5 of the innings. For those not familiar, Region X jucos play four seven inning games in a series. Louisburg got a complete game from South carolina transfer Ethan Carter in game 1. I can't remember how long the other Louisburg starters lasted. It's worth mentioning also, that Pitt reliever Mike Williams, a soph. from Northern Nash High School, has had 4 remarkable outings in the last couple of weeks. Of the four mentioned, he has entered the game twice with bases loaded and no outs, once with bases loaded and one out, and once with runners on first and second and no outs, and gotten out of every one of them.

Pitt's gaudy batting avertage took a hit yeaterday when Spartanburg Methodist's pitchers limited them to 3 hits each in 2 games. SMC won both games 3-1.

Spartanburg Methodist completed a sweep of Pitt community College Sunday. SMC pitchers continued their shutdown of Pitt's bats winning 2-0 and 5-1. Pitt scored a total of 3 runs, and had only 10 hits vs. SMC.

Ben Boykin (Ft. Mill HS and On Deck O Alum) is on that SMC team and I hear that he is doing very good things down there. Way to go Ben!
