    Would love to get thoughts on how this conference will shake out this year. If you have insights on any of these teams please post. From what I have read so far it seems like it may be a race for the top between Marvin Ridge and Weddington again, but I don't have all the info on the others.

    Bump.

    anyone out there who can tell us some things about the teams and players at:

    Anson (3A)
    Parkwood (3A)
    Porter Ridge (4A)
    Sun Valley (4A)

    Watched Weddington play their two scrimmage games against Kannapolis and Hough yesterday. What a great day for baseball. Saw some of the Sun Valley and Cuthbertson players and coaches there watching too.

    Really would like to hear some insights on the players to watch from the other teams in this conference.

    Anson - I understand that Anson only has about 22 players in their program right now. I don't expect them to be very competitive in the SCC.
    Parkwood - Sounds like they swung the big stick last Sat. at NW Cabarrus, hitting 5 HRs on the day. Sleeper, perhaps?
    Porter Ridge - don't know much about who is returning....believe the Kwasnik kid is back. If he is, they have a chance any time he is on the mound.
    Sun Valley - Several players enter the season injured, but they have some young talent that will mix with the older guys to give them a chance to compete.

    I still feel like Marvin and Weddington will finish 1 and 2 in the conference, not necessarily in that order.

    2)Marvin Ridge
    3)Porter Ridge
    4)Sun Valley
    5)Parkwood
    6)Anson

    Porter Ridge game against Catholic on 3/9 suspended in 3rd inning with PR batting, runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. PR leading 3-2. I believe they are going to pick it up there and finish when they play again on 3/31.

    Porter Ridge plays South Meck on Wednesday.
    Porter Ridge plays Rocky River on Thursday.
