    Coach May....probably one of the most insightful posts I've read on here. Being one of the coaches that has to deal with those parents from the "daddyball" showcase age, it is difficult. Coach May, if you don't mind, I am going to take your post and post it in our locker room and probably give a copy to each one of my players. Thanks!

    Great advice from a man who obviously knows coaching---and these points are particularly true. Not only do "Daddyball" parents turn off coaches, but the other parents as well. Unless the coach is clueless, this advice is priceless, and very well-said!! My son played on some teams with kids & parents like this.....and those boys can come watch him and other hard-working, self-disciplined young men play in college. :hurray: :medal:

    the other great quote was the dad who said he was "raising a young man, not a shortstop". (what a pearl, and I bet the coach loved his son!)

    We could not have asked for a better response! Way to go Coach27! Our family has printed this out and hung it on the bathroom mirror. Great words to live by in life, not just baseball.
