I've seen a majority of these kids play and you all are exactly right....excellent talent in this bunch.

Lewis can definitely help someone - quick hands with pop and a strong backstop.

Daniels we played in a scrimmage this year and he's the real deal. Someone will get a stud with this kid.

James has big time pop in his bat and he's a legit OF

Hammond is a monster - can't believe he hasn't already signed

Allende doesn't look like he's a dominant ace, but he can be and throws 3 pitches for strikes

*I have 2 as well. Brandon Porter (position?) is hitting better right now than anyone I've ever had. A JUCO kid due to grades his 1st 2 years, he can flat out rake.
Ryan Yoder (C) is another kid that should be playing somewhere. Hitting over .450 with pop (2 HR's) and a big time arm (1.92 pop, sub 2.0 from his knees).

---Good luck to all these kids!

Here is another East Meck '11 that garners attention, Lou Trosch. The young man is fiercely competitive and understands the art of pitching. He doesn't "jump out" at you because he is consistently 82-84. Those type pitchers are found all through out the state. But what separates Lou from the rest is his pin point control. He realizes he has a very low margin for error, so he compensates by making pitcher's pitches: Command of all pitches and keeping hitters off balance.

He's like a good wine. The longer you watch him, the more you appreciate what he accomplishes. He has been successful in high caliber competition, SW4A freshman all conference, SC Panthers organization and competing in major showcase tournaments.

He reminds me a little of the rabbit and turtle race. Everybody picks the rabbit to win, but Lou always finishes first. Why is that? Because the kid knows how to pitch.

I've watched this kid pitch since he was 12 y/o, the past 4 years @ Southern Lee HS. This year I believe he is 4-0 with zero earned runs allowed, with a complete game shut out of a solid Scotland Co. team. The kid is a bulldog on the mound, who has never missed an outing, consistant mid 80's, killer 12-6 curveball, with a newly developed change up. It amazes me that this kid is getting no love from the college ranks. Academicly he's already been accepted to three major NC universities. I know this past summer while pitching for GBC at East Cobb he pitched an beat the All American Prospects and hit 87 on the radar guns, still no love.
I may be missing something, but it seems to me everyone needs pitching, and theres a lot of schools missing out on this kid. For financial reasons this past summer was the only time he's played showcase baseball. Any coaches or bird dogs out there that need any further info on Andrew feel free to PM me.

Charlotte Catholic 2011 -- Daniel Stewart

Daniel Stewart -- LHP Charlotte Catholic 2011 -- All this kid does is go out, throw strikes, and win ballgames. He's 6'2" and built like a brickhouse. After a tough start this year in the opener against South Meck -- where he uncharacteristically left some balls up in the zone -- Daniel has pitched 4 straight shutouts while giving up only 10 hits in a combined total of 27 innings. His ERA now stands at an impressive 1.00, and averages 7.5 strikouts per game with only 1.5 walks/game. While not known as a hitter, Daniel has also chipped in with a .278 BA. Not too shabby for someone who spends his time working on pitching. Daniel has created some interest and has had a couple of D2 offers -- however he has not found the situation that would be the ideal fit. Most schools seem to be concerned about his lack of bigtime velocity. However, in my opinion, Daniel makes up for that by his pinpoint control, exceptional mechanics, imposing physical frame, and the fact that he throws from the left side. Someone out there will definitely benefit by bringing Daniel into their program!!

My som played with "DStew 2 summers ago. He is a real bulldog on the mound. Nothing seems to effect his demeanor. There is alot of upside for this young man. He is a very good student with a great family.
