Rocky Mount conference

Just a few comments about Northern Nash. The Knights have been very competitive in the Big East so far. They are currently 9-4 overall & 2-2 in the conference race. They lost 4-3 to league-leader Hunt & took Nash Central into extra innings before falling. They will most definately make the playoffs this season (anywhere from 2-4 in the standings). A Northern Nash victory over Rocky Mount tonight would really jumble up the Big East standings. I think Benton Moss is scheduled to throw for Rocky Mount tonight, unless Kent Cox holds him for Thursday night's rematch with Nash Central.

 

BENTON MOSS, we ain't scared of Benton Moss, bring him down this way. JUST KIDDING GUYS. I love that kid and his family. Sounds like you guys got a pretty even conference, which makes for some great baseball.

 

Moss is in a league of his own. Of course he can't pitch every game, which may play a role in who wins the Big East. Either Northern Nash or Nash Central will face someone else this week.

Jeremy Lucas gets the W!

For Northern, Madison Mayo, Jeremy Lucas, & Fuller Weatherly had 2 hits apiece, while Braxton Bowden had a homerun. Mayo homered also.

For Rocky Mount, Thomas Berry, Benton Moss, and Taylor Clontz all homered. Moss also had a double along the way.

Jeremy Johnson took the loss for Rocky Mount.

Northern Nash & Rocky Mount are now both 3-2 in the Big East & in second place.

 

The kid is very good, dont get me wrong. A league of his own though? I do respect the kids ability to stay humble when folks continue to praise how great he is. I'm not doubting his ability, don't put him on a pedestal until he wins the Cy Young.

 

Hey Bush League, i don't think anyone has said he has won the Cy Young, so personally coming from me and me only, i think that was a bush league remark and you have the right screen name. We are only acknowledging his accomplishments on the diamond in high school and they speak for themselves. I thought this kind of jealousy only came from the western part of the state.

 

nobody in their right mind would want to face Moss when he is on the mound. But, if you match a pitcher against him that is just as good he is, you could beat him. He is good, but he can be beat

 

Moss did take the loss first game of the season vs. Rose. But he is a stud and will be a high draft pick in June. Moss and Maples from Pinecrest, best pitchers in the state. No doubt about it. Both in another world at the high school level.
