    Standings:

    Weddington 5-1
    Marvin Ridge 5-1
    Parkwood 3-3
    Porter Ridge 2-4
    Anson 2-4
    Sun Valley 1-5

Huge week this week with Weddington and Marvin Ridge hooking up. Either one of these two can clinch the 1st seed with a sweep.
Sun Valley and Porter Ridge get together this week, as well as Anson/Parkwood.

Rollin' the ball out at 7:00..... MR at Weddington. This will be good. No secrets here. These players and coaches know everything about each other. Most of the players have played against each other since they were 7!!

Both teams have had this one circled on the schedule since the beginning of the season. Now it seems the conference title is also on the line.

    MR vs Weddington

Should be a couple good games this week. It really is going to come down to solid pitching. I think Weddington can swing it better top to bottom and the pitching rotation is solid as well. Marvin is struggling a little at the plate so they are going to need a good outing on the mound to keep it close. Let's hope the rain doesn't keep them off the field tomorrow....should be a good night for baseball!

These boys not only play against each other but grew up playing WITH each other on the same teams out at WCWAA so you know they want to come out on top heading into the East Meck tourney.

    Weddington Vs MR

Weddington takes the win in the first game against MR 2-1. Andrew Knight is the difference maker in this one with a double in the 1st and a 2 run Homer in the 3rd. Andrew also threw out a player attempting to steal 3rd with some room to spare. Newsome had a great game on the mound for Weddington. Only real trouble was in the middle innings. It seems the Umpire took at least 5 pitches off. Newsome would get ahead, and then the strike zone disappeared. It didn't shrink, it disappeared. On one occasion Knight asked to check to see if the batter held up his swing, only to find the field umpire not even watching. He was looking in Center field!

Pert throws a solid game for MR. Only allowing 3 or 4 real hard hits the entire evening. Unfortunately, one was the HR by Knight. Pert helped his own cause on at least 3 occasions. W tried to bunt the runner to second only to have Pert properly field the ball and throw the lead runner out at 2nd.

Weddington clinches at least a share of the conference title with the win. Rematch is set for Friday at 4:30 at MR.

Sun Valley stopped the 5 game slide they were on winning against PR last night. Good for them. There are too many talented players on that team for the record they have. If they get it together, they will be a spoiler in the conference tourney.

I don't think Weddington has clinched a share yet. They still have two games with Anson. The only way they will clinch a share is to beat Marvin again on Friday.

The rematch Fri will be big for both squads, but the pressure is on MR to come through with the win to have a chance at a share of the title. Yes 2 games with Anson still need to be played for W. Not a sure thing, but I like the odds. However MR must play 2 against SV. SV looks to be finding their way into the win column. We'll see in a short amount of time.
PW and Anson have to win out to have a shot.

If you read what he said carefully, that's what he said.

    Anyway, a score from tonight...
