Ouch...I had been following the weather reports and saw where Fayetteville looked to be in the path of the warning. So sad

I'm certainly not intending to make light of this, but as an observation after a terrible situation. It's amazing to me to see how destructive this tornado was and all the damage it did to the HS, the baseball field and all of the other areas. But what caught my eye after seeing all of the destruction were all of the baseball field lights were still intact. Not one on the baseball or softball field was knocked down.

We were spared in the Winston-Salem area, but appears Fayetteville got hammered. I read while on the papers website one was dead also.

Based on the pictures I saw, while I'm saddened by the one death, it's unbelievable it was only one. Thank god school was out.

Actually did some student teaching at Pine Forest....havent heard much from the students I taught, but i do know most of them are doing well, just power outages and power lines down. I doubt there will be school at Pine Forest for a few days. If I hear more, I'll give an update from the kids there....keep all the people in Fayetteville and Pine Forest in your thoughts and prayers

    Thank God nobody was there.

Not the same scale at all but I've heard Holly Springs outdoor athletic facilities sustained some damage as well. Don't know if that means baseball field but there's not many outdoor athletic facilities other than baseball and football fields.

22 people are reported dead after yesterdays storms in NC. I'm at a loss for words. I sincerely hope everyone's family on here is safe.

Sanford, Raleigh, and Holly Springs were hit hard in the "Raleigh" area. Bertie County was hit very hard down east, atleast 10 have been reported dead.

Lee County High was luckily not impacted by the tornado, but was with in half a mile from its path, where it caused great damage. I hear southern lee high had some damage, havent seen it yet, so i do not know the extint. East Lee Middle softball and baseball field both lost parts of their fence and score boards. They are just not there anymore.

by the way JM15, nice to informally meet ya, Coach Rosser. Emily told me who you were. Small world.

So after looking at more pictures, Pine Forest's baseball and softball field are pretty much done. Like Braves said, the lights are still up. Just will have to rebuild fences and clear all the trees and debris. The soccer field was torn up pretty bad as well and from what I'm gathering, the football field took a hit too. Good thing school was not in session!
