CBC Spring Break Classic - THANK YOU!

To All who Participated—Thank You!


What a great week of baseball we saw at that CBC Spring Break Classic held at East Meck High School. The weather was perfect, the games were competitive, the kids received lots of attention from college recruiters and MLB scouts and we had fun.


First and foremost we want to say thank you to all the kids who participated. You played hard, with class and sportsmanship. You guys continue to prove that Charlotte is a hot bed not only for baseball talent, but for fine young men.


Thank you to all the coaches, it is evident that you take pride in your program; you showed that you prepared your kids to compete and yet genuinely care about them.


A thank you to all the families who watched some intense, competitive baseball and showed support to all the kids regardless of the uniform they were wearing, pure class.


Thank you to all the scouts and college recruiters, who came to watch the boys battle it out. Your attendance at the event made it more than special for the boys who dream of playing at the next level.


To the dedicated staff of CBC, Sue Zike, Tim O’Reilly and Paul Lover who worked tirelessly to ensure that we were well prepared and represented our brand with class.


And last, but not least we want to thank the wild and whacky crew from the East Meck Booster Club! You are a true band of characters who love their baseball, their kids and the East Meck baseball program. No one ever really sees the work it takes to put on such an event, but we sure did this past week! From dragging fields to making hot dogs and staffing the score booth and VIP area this group was a well oiled machine. Thank you RT and Julie Gardner, Judge Trosch, Coach Koppe and the entire East Meck Booster Club for inviting us to be a part of such a dedicated, devoted, fun group who knows how to do it right. We are already looking forward to next year’s CBC Spring Break Classic!

extrainnings, We greatly appreciate the compliment but would love to make next year the FIRST BEST Spring Break you have ever attended.
What can we do to improve the experience? We are only 2 years old and all feedback is helpful.

Let me thank Jeff, Dave, Tim, Sue, Paul, and all the folks at CBC! You were the perfect addition to the Classic. We wanted to top last year's tournament and with your help (along with some amazing baseball by all 8 teams) I think we did. As far as I'm concerned, the sky's the limit for this tournament. The atmosphere was electric out there, what with the big crowds, the little leaguers, the College/Pro Scouts, the great food, the beautiful weather, and most of all well played exciting games. For example, I'm not sure I'll ever see a game the likes of that 12 inning Butler vs. Marvin Ridge contest.

Coach Koppe certainly has done East Mecklenburg and the entire region proud with his brainchild. With the backing of CBC and all of our other sponsors, the CBC Classic has the makings to become the Crown Jewel of the Carolina Spring Break Tourneys. Most of all, we pledge to do everything in our power so that everyone feels welcome and has a good time. In the end, that's what it's all about.

An incredible job is done to give the event a down home feel,,, From the PA, to the welcoming folks to the concessions,, you cant help but feel welcome at the event.

The games were great, I think the fact that East Meck played three games that tested them over the break was a key part to their win last night over AK.

Not to leave out any of the local teams, but I would love to see the event bring in some teams with names from across the state... I think that would add excitement as well.

Not to leave the Jack Sink out either,, I love going to it as well and had a great time at MP, one of my favorite places to watch a game,,,
