IMPACT put out a request for every school to send in their records to comprise the polls. Apparently they didn't turn in their resume. Not IMPACT's fault.

I wish the NCHSAA had a section where standings could be checked for all sports. They could make it mandatory for ADs/coaches to submit results and records, or forfeit playoff opportunities.

    Wow! Fines?:goingoninhere:

How 'bout just call a coach from the conference you are interested in and ask the standings. I assume that's what you are after, as there is no way any rankings come from the type of info you want posted.

As for polls, they are for entertainment and conversation.

What SoutherNo1 is saying makes the most sense, but it probadly won't happen. The NCHSAA doesn't always do the sensible thing. In their defense, they do try to steer all the schools to Maxpreps, but a large majority of the schools don't take the time to do it. Asking schools to report their records seems like an imperfect way to come up with state rankings also, but it is what it is, I reckon. Nobody else is doing it. Getting information out of some schools is like pulling teeth, whereas the game info just flows out of others. There are some coaches out there who could care less about game reports & publicity. In the end, the only state rankings that matter are the final ones.

Who is to say that any poll on high school baseball, both state and national, could be considered legitimate. Will find out in a couple of weeks when state playoffs begin

Southern Lee was also ranked in the top 10 in the 3-A bracket but are not even in the top of their conference. Union Pines is the number 1 seed in that conference with Greys Creek the #2. Correct me if I am wrong.

We love the game, not everything that surrounds it

Baseball is a great game, for sure. I was talking to a Dad last night and he said "baseball is such an amazing game, so full of strategy and fine little details that the average fan doesn't see...and that is why I love it"

It's the game we love..the frustrations with polls, opinions, stats, field dimensions, umpiring, etc. are all part of the broader game and at the High School level there is plenty of opportunity for frustration, for sure. Just recently, the Charlotte Observer published it's first summary of statistical leaders for the Charlotte area and many players deserving of recognition for their achievements were not mentioned, likely because their coach ignored the invitation from the Observer to submit the stats for their team...or at least failed to react to whatever stimuli the other coaches reacted to when they made their submissions. I'm sure it is disheartening for the player who has 10 home runs to not see his name among the HR leaders (not my son).

Kudos to the coaches who understand how important it is to include their teams records and stats to those who seek the information for polls and other rankings....
