    Porter Ridge got on the board first with solo HR by Josh Roeder in the top of the first. However, Chris Timberlake kept them at bay the rest of the way, getting out of a bases loaded jam in the sixth. Ryan Smith came on with runners at 1st and 3rd and just one out in the seventh, and got a strikeout and a flyout to left to end the threat and get the win. Offensively, the Spartans managed just 7 hits off Roeder, who was pretty darn good tonight. However, a single, a walk and a one out Sac bunt put runners at 2nd and 3rd with two outs in the fourth. A passed ball allowed Jordan Watts to score and tie it at one. The Spartans had another opportunity in the fifth, but butchered a suicide and got nothing. Will Holmes led off the bottom of the seventh with a solid double in the right centerfield gap. Kenny Palmer then bunted him over, beating it out for a hit to put runners at first and third with no outs. Palmer stole second on the next pitch, which induced the Pirates to intentionally walk Chris Timberlake. Ryan Smith then stepped up and hit a chopper up the middle that the Pirates were able to field, but unable to get off a throw for the game winning single. Outstanding baseball game to watch.

    Brooks strikes out 17!!!

    Parkwood wins over Anson 7-3. According to the paper, Brooks strikes out 17. WOW 17 strike outs!! This kid was dealing. Parkwood moves to 4-4 in the Conference. They take on PR the last 2 conference games.

    Weddington over Anson yesterday 2-1. Rematch is tomorrow at Anson.

    Weddington needs win to ensure a share of the conference title.

    West Stanly beat Weddington tonight 7-6 on a two run walk off home run in the bottom of the 7th.

    SV led 7-4 heading to bottom of seventh. MR gets 3 to send it to extras. Both teams get one in the eighth, MR gets the one they need in the ninth on a two out single.
