NCHSAA Brackets

Information is not officially due to the NCHSAA from the schools until Wednesday morning, so I would imagine they would be up sometime tomorrow.

 

Good thing most schools know when the're playing. I can't remember a year where the NCHSAA didn't have the brackets up by now. In year's past, they were up by Sunday afternoon. I'm just guessing, but the problem probadly is poor communication with some of the conference leaders. And this year there seemed to be alot of tiebreaker type games on Monday which doesn't help the bracket-posting situation either.

 

It is very difficult when you are a team sitting on the bubble hoping for a wild card spot.

 

Since they moved the start of the playoffs to the end of the week instead of the beginning, brakets are usually released late AM on Wednesday. There were tie breaker games played yesterday after the regular season ended on Monday. They should be released shortly.

 

I know the conferences had until 6:00am this morning to get their information in, but still, it seems like they're cutting it close. I imagine some of those 1A & 2A conferences that we never hear any game information on during the year are really hard to get reports on. Then again, there are some 3A & 4A's we sorta wonder about also during the year.

 

I believe it is a $400 fine for not reporting on time.

we need a bracket pool thread for each level started on TBR. 4A West will be a shootout, including 1st round games. In my opinion, N Meck has an excellent opportunity to go far...and a possible Mallard Creek vs Hopewell matchup should repeat itself.

South Caldwell looks strong in their division and another possible matchup looks interesting: Providence vs South Meck

Two teams to watch are TC Robertson and Davie...very dangerous. I still predict Davie will represent the West. But the darkhouse-under the radar- team is Glenn. If they get by AK...watch out!

From now on out it doesn't matter what happened during the season. W/L's are the same. It's the team that's playing their best ball (right now) that advances (of course, a little bit of luck always helps.) What makes this year so interesting is there are no dominating teams. Not one team has 2 shutdown pitchers, although there are teams with 2-3 outstanding pitchers. AK has the deepest staff featuring 2 pitchers committed to UNC, but Providence proved they can be beaten.

There are so many "watch out" games that shouldn't surprise us if the underdog wins...this is going to be fun! Get Ready

 

Oh well....the bubble just burst...tough waiting to find out but just didn't win a couple of games we had to have.
