    Marvin Ridge vs JM Robinson

    In the 3A West bracket, Marvin Ridge beat JM Robinson on a 2 run walkoff HR by Tyler Chadwick. Brian Peart through a 2 hit shutout for the MR Mavericks. Kyle Corrgan made a fantastic play at the plate to tag out a runner from Robinson who tried to score on a wild pitch.

    The Country Day Buccaneers win their second round playoff game convincingly with an offensive attack keyed by junior first baseman Colin Walls, who hit a grand slam in the second inning to extend a 4-0 lead to a very comfortable 8-0 margin. Walls followed that with a 2-run blast in his next at bat to finish with 6RBIs. Both home runs were driven over the fence in the deepest part of the ballpark. Junior Patrick Brady was 2-2 with 2RBIs and seniors William Frazier and Lee Harrison chipped in with RBI singles. Harrison was very effective on the mound, pitching out of a bit of a jam in the first. Covenant Day stroked 3 singles in the 3rd frame but the rally ended when the base runner attempting to score bowled over the catcher and was called out and ejected from the game. The Bucs 6' 5" catcher Brian Duncan took the blow to the chest without a grimace as he bounded up and cruised into the dugout. Country Day is now 20-5 for the season.

    Tough battle.....HP shortstop smacked a home run to post an early 2-1 lead. HP extended it to 4-1 going to the bottom of the 7th and Charlotte Christian rallied to score two, but was unable to push across the two runners in scoring position as the HP reliever recorded a clutch strikeout to end the game.

    thought surely the scores from Kell @ Glenn and Butler @ North Davidson would be posted....maybe both games are still going in extra innings
