    Any info on Piedmont. East is starting to play like they did at start of season, getting timely hits, pitching is coming around,and the defense is really sharp. Not heard much about Piedmont,hoping somebody has some info thanks.

    Info on Piedmont......get ready for a ball game! They field well.They hit well top to bottom....and they ain't Skeered of anybody! They are lead by Brad Elwood (signed with UNCC, State record holder for doubles, and just a great kid). According to a Union County website, Piedmont has the top 3 RBI leaders in the county.

    My best suggestion is ......don't make many mistakes.

    Stats are very misleading, they play in a very weak conference (3) good teams (8) total the rest are no better than rec ball.

    Wow!!!! Weak Conference---
    2 of those teams were ranked in the top 3 in "The State" all year. Did you guys play Cuthbertson or West Stanly?

    They are in a very weak conference...except for the top - W Stanley and Cuthbertson. That being said, they played MR (2-1). They played tight with Weddington for 5 innings. They played Cuthbertson 4-3 in the conference tourn. They can't control the weakness of their conference, but they did step up the competition level out of conference. Yes, they lost most of those, but they are used to tuff out of conference games.

    A quick peak at E L schedule doesn't show to many power houses either.

    We'll see what happens when they roll the ball out on Tuesday.

    All I said was stats are inflated because of weak conference. They are a good team. :xyxthumbs:

    Hopefully this is going to be a good one,sounds like Piedmont is better than people think. East conf. is really weak also except for Cherryville,even though WL beat them twice. They did beat Forestview twice,and play Mallard Creek better than the 10 -5 score. Good luck to both.
