    mythoughts, should I apologize??

Do you not think these kids know the facts? Or are you being politically correct and prefer to speak of this team as "the best in the west"? And what is wrong with "Honorable Mention " caliber players? I know my son would have loved to be called an "Honorable Mention" player. ........:08:
I bet you are part of the crowd that objects to grading papers in school less the "C" and "D" kids get their feelings hurt.

    Regards, my friend,

    time of year

I notice that comments get a little more "spirited" this time of year on TBR with the following occurring.....
    • conference tournaments
    • state playoffs
    • all star rosters
    • state games rosters
    • etc
It's not a perfect world, and all have our opinions about how it could be better, or how we could be more happy with an outcome, but in the end we should at least be civil and friendly with one another...no sense getting our heartbeats out of rhythm when we can just celebrate the game and the accomplishments of all (big & small)

Oh you would be suprised then. These guys where selected as the top players that tried out. These players will represent the West. leave it at that. Just dont think we need to try to downgrade because some choose not to participate. But your thoughts are your thoughts. Have at it. :headbang:
Low and Slow- I agree with you.

Judging by the list I'm looking at, the West roster is not a "Honorable Mention" group! Good team!

Normally, there aren't enough roster spots open for all the good players that should be on the team anyway, so if someone drops out to help another guy, that's a good thing!

    State Game comment

I know a few of the players that were selected for the West State Game Team, were also invited to the Perfect Game Event in Florida. There are so many talented players. Have a little faith in the boys that will represent. Good Luck to them!!

    Applaud the West Team Coaches

It's worthy to note that some top D1 signed players also tried out for the West Team and are not on that roster. The best talent was indeed chosen based on who went to the tryouts. Give the coaches for the West Team a big applause for picking this group. Some have played showcase for the top showcase teams in the state. Please be careful in judging players that you have not seen or have seen and have grown as a player. I agree that the this team is a well-rounded group of outstanding players and not just "honorable mention". Please be careful in judging players.....totally inappropriate for the purposes of this board. People, parents and players do indeed read the posts.

I don't know extra inning and i don't think he or she meant anything negative about the kids, atleast i hope not. I was very disappointed with the turnout for the games. I know that if you are drafted the scout or a team representative will follow you at this game. I also know that most Legion teams do not play on the date of the game( june 15th). Whatever the reasons that some kids didn't try out, that is their choice. My son tried out because it will be his last sanction High School Event, Though he played in the state games as a sophmore and has his college scholarship, he wanted to represent his school and region in playing against his friends and top talent from the East. The kids that tried out and made the team are very good ball players and can hold their own with any player in the state. Just because some of these guys might not be as well known as some guys, .They can play. Plus it will be fun and also good to talk with the East Parents that i know.

There are also some who opted to play in the Battle of the Border held the same day at Winthrop.

    Battle of Border

What is the Battle of the Border Showcase, and how does it work, does it have as many coaches and scouts attending?
