Megan Crowe from JM Robinson High School has committed to play softball at Western Carolina. Megan currently plays with the Carolina Angels and formerly with the Carolina Cobras after "growing up" and playing for several years with the Magic. We have been blessed over the years to be around great people with all of these organizations along with many others from the softball community. It's been a wonderful journey and we wouldn't trade a minute of it.

Who did she actually commit to?

Not trying to be a wise guy but can't say that I've ever heard of anyone committing to a program that didn't have a head coach. I assume the prior coach made to offer. Has the AD committed to honor it? In a perfect world that's what should occur. Was an assistant involved? If so, has that person got a multi-year contract? That would be unusual.

Again, I'm not being critical just have never hear of this before. Hopefully, it will work out for all involved.

She originally committed to the former coach but had the best relationship with the assistant, Coach Clift, who is acting as the interim head coach. He went to the AD before making the official commitment after the former coach was released. We are confident everything will work out but if it doesn't she is going to the school she wants to attend to get the degree she wants.

    Congrats Meg!

Way to go Megan for sticking with the school that you have always wanted to attend. WCU is getting a great student and whoever ends up with the head coaching job will figure out real quick that they have one heck of a ball player waiting on them.

Until then.......we have a little more Magic and Angels business to tend to the summer:bounce:

    We are proud of you!!!!!

    Excellent!

This is a pretty extraordinary circumstance. It's refreshing to see a school do the right thing. Kudos to the AD!

And even better to see a kid and her parents do the right thing.
Pick the SCHOOL not the COACH for they may not be there much longer.

    Props to you guys!!

Congratulations to Tony, Kelly and Megan. Megan is one of the best outfielders I've seen, outworking everyone else on the field. Not too bad at second base either. WCU picked a good one - great player and fantasic young lady. I'm certain Megan will do well and look forward to seeing her on the field. We're very proud of Megan and we'll see you soon. Will, Donna and Sarah.
