    PLAYER NEEDED!!

    I am coaching Team Carolinas for the 2011 grads in the Battle of the Border game at Winthrop this Sunday night.
    We had a last minute injury and now have an opening on my roster. If interested, send your name, school, position(s) played and email to Coach Knight at [email protected] and I will forward the information to organizer Tripp Roakes.
    This is for graduating seniors only and the team is made up of players outside the Charlotte area (Union, Cabarrus, Davie, Rowan, etc.). It is an elite all-star game that attracts high level talent.

    Player Needed

    I know of a player that was nominated/recommended for this even and never heard a word. How were players chosen?

    Every year we run into a couple of different things that cause this,,,


    email sent, sitting in an unchecked spam folder
    (Check your spam folders every couple of days)


    Wrong email address given


    Email of a coach given, we reply and ask that it is forwarded to the players parents


    Email of a player given and email never checked.



    Advice for any student-athlete or parents hoping to be recruited - set up a generic email address and make sure that parents and player check it on a daily basis.




    With that said, please email me and I will research the player you are speaking of.

    Email notification - an easy fix

    Trip,
    This is an EASY fix. Below are a few ideas that would make for a more visible and transparent process.
    • Setup your web nomination form to automatically send a verification of reciept of the nomination via email to the person nominating and the nominee's parents.
    • Request that they reply like businesses do when logins are created. When they reply, it's their nominations are confirmed.
    • If they don't reply, they get a followup.
    • Post the confirmed nominees to your website, so that the coaches/parents/players interested are aware that they are, or are not nominated.
    • They can also get any updates, or scheduling changes via mass emails, if you choose to update them that way.
    • Then later, when they are choosen, they get the "your chosen" email (a non-mass email), they'll stand a better chance of recieving it and responding. Of course, the phone works also.
