Best of Luck to the Curve

Congrats to Coach Fain and the Curve! A couple years ago our daughter was looking for an 18u team and Coach Fain offered her a position on the Curve. She had also tried out and made another team and decided to play for the other team, when we called to tell Coach Fain he was very understanding and gave us several recruiting tips and offer to help our daughter in anyway he could. He is the type of coach that is for all the kids not just his team. Best of Luck to the Curve!!!

Thank you for you kind congratulations!

The girls are playing and executing really well right now, top to bottom and i hope we can keep this up through the Nationals. Still have a few big tournaments to go before we get there.

Shout-out to the Cobras, Cardinals, and Lady Blues - all these games were really incredible games and some awesome plays made from both sides, a bounce of the ball either way could have easily changed the outcome. I watched a lot of games this weekend and saw a lot of great games played by a lot of good teams.

My only comment about the tournament is i wish there was a way to avoid having a championship game begin at 9pm Sunday night.

Not sure what is with the sarcasm from Gator Dad trying to imply our success is sole tied to a single coach or program, this is the 2nd such post. If i listed all the coaches, teachers, and mentors that have helped all these young ladies get to where they are in softball and life - this post would be huge. There are many and they know who they are and I'm sure did it not for any self glory but rather seeing something in the girls and gave of themselves to merely help them along. There are 14 girls on this team and each of which is great in their own way and each of which has had help in some way or another by many to achieve what they have. The Curve is not unique in this but rather I'd say the same holds true for all the young ladies playing this or any sport. So whatever your beef with me or this team or any players on this team i hope you get it worked out and can get to a place where you can just enjoy watching young ladies doing what they really love doing and appreciate their effort and hard work.

Good Luck to the Cardinals and Lady Blues in Colorado this week. I know you will represent our area very well!

    Jeff

you heard wrong. i am in no way responsible for anything that went on at the asa state or anything that is going on as a result of the asa state. whoever told you that i did is a liar....point blank and i would gladly tell them the same thing. i would be happy for you to prove any different.

the difference in you and I is that i have not now nor ever hid who i am from people. i could care less what you think about me. at least i am not afraid of what people will think. it is obvious that you are.:single ****: please feel free to share with the class who you are. you obviously know who i am and as you can tell i am very frightened by the fact that you know

    Bigger Things In Life

So as all of you squabble back and forth about who lives where or goes to what high school or plays softball for what coach or whatever it is that you're bickering about..... and you're all ADULTS, I think, can you just stop for one second and listen to yourselves. Seriously?

As we approach this July 4th holiday weekend, Independence Day, maybe you can all stop for one minute and think about those that give so much more so you can waste everyones time with this pettiness versus just being able to congratulate every girl that gave the time and energy to play in the ASA States this past weekend.

Maybe you could also take a moment to look at the email and link I received last night as part of a service to new parents of Cadets at West Point - my daughter will be playing softball there for the Black Knights and is in Cadet Basic Training this summer. She will also serve her country once she graduates.

This could be her one of these days and the fact that you all have nothing better to do than write this nonsense is just sad.

One of the saddest experiences of being a parent is realizing that our sons and daughters have chosen to serve during a time of war, and with that reality is the reality that not all our sons and daughters will come home.

We debated whether we should even bring this sadness to you at this time, but as your son/daughter has likely already heard it at West Point, we feel you should be aware.

It is with great sadness that we inform you that 1LT Dimitri Del Castillo (USMA 2009) was killed in action in Afghanistan. His wife, (also a 2009 grad) was also serving in Afghanistan at the time her husband was killed.

We ask that you keep LT Del Castillo, his wife and family, and all of our soldiers serving in harms way.... in your thoughts and prayers.

LT Del Castillo's eulogy page can be viewed at:

Congratulations on your daughter being chosen to play at West Point. A great accomplishment indeed.

I am a Veteran of Dessert Storm and I'm one of those who posted to this thread. My being a Veteran has NOTHING to do with this thread and the fact that I or anyone else chooses this platform to speak about softball has NOTHING to do with what is going on in the rest of the world. If it did, we be in another forum other than SOFTBALL. I'm sure everyone here appreciates those who have served and continue to serve but I really don't think it's appropriate to make people feel guilty for discussing their love of the game...regardless of how it's discussed.

First - thanks for your service.......

You are correct in that this is an open venue to discuss whatever you like in whatever tone you choose. And I agree completely with your statement that it's a venue to discuss the sport we ALL love.

My point was not to make anyone feel guilty - the people who serve our country do so willingly - you should know, as do I with my daughters choice. And anyone who feels guilty because they read the message I sent earlier - well then they must have something to feel guilty for. That's just a sad truth of the world we live in now.

I do think it would be a nice gesture for folks to just slow down before putting something in writing and consider those who are going to read it who it isn't direct to and maybe, just maybe, think of those who give of themselves so we can have our freedoms (this venue being one of those), and in doing so, maybe we wouldn't act like a bunch of mules sometimes.....over a sport we all love.

My point was just to mention to those folks who were ranting (and I was a professional ranter back in my daughters younger days) to stop for just a second to look at what they were writing. The thread was about scores for ASA States. It had some smatterings of genuine congratulations in there. Sadly, some folks were slinging insults, etc all throughout about a bunch of things that really don't matter. Or maybe they do matter and Morgan hasn't played club ball around NC in so many years we really are disconnected. And if that's the case, I'm glad. We all have an inbox here if you want to sling mud.

At the end of the day, like you said, we can write whatever we want.

So - congrats to the Curve for winning, congrats to the Cardinals for making it through after a long week up at Team New Jersey where we were just prior to ASA States and congrats to all the other teams and coaches who give their time for this sport we all love.

    Have a nice holiday weekend.

she may have been off topic, but at least she didnt mention someones real name on our forum in the way you did. that violates one of our top rules, and the bad part about it is you didnt have the guts to do it under your real name, you had to go and make up an alternate. this name will be gone real soon.

gator dad and i have had our discussion, and he now understands what he said that upset some. do you understand what upset him??????? many of us disagree with college players playing on a 18u team against non-college players. its like stacking the deck in my opinion....true, there are no rules against it, but some of us are working on that one right now as we speak....

so, i'm going to end this by saying congrats to the curve...take the rest to rant n rave if you must...
