Independence Day

    As we all look forward to a long weekend of fireworks, cookouts and baseball, I think it's important to remember the sacrafices our forefarthers made in declaring independence. We often forget that those who signed "The Declaration of Indepenence" were commiting a act of treason and put their lives on the line for the pursuit of liberty and freedom. I get goosebumps as I read that famous document... it was a brave group of leaders saying "we have had enough" and took a stand against tyranny and oppression. Which in turn motivated an entire country to bear arms and fight for things we often take for granted today; independence, liberty and freedom. God bless America and those who fought for our freedom, as well as our servicemembers who continue the fight to this day to retain the valued principals on which our country was built.
