    Nothing but gracious....

I'm sure it helped that they were up 7-1 by the 4th inning. If it were a little closer who knows....they definitely let Blue know how they felt about his strike zone...

the fried baloney sandwiches though...that's another story...for a "northern" boy like me that was something new and I'm taking that recipe back home to show off to family and friends! By the way...where can you buy the tire truck size slices of bologna???:drool5:

Well you can only find fillet of bologna like that in the southern world and your best bet would be an old run down gas station where they still order it in the stocking. The key in my opinion to the sandwich would be the coleslaw. with out this you just have your everyday fried bologna sandwich!

The final score should have been 5-3 Cherryville as the home plate umpire miss a tag by Pineville catcher that would have result in out number 3 .Cherryville number #35 was really good for Cherryville .As he had 3 RBI and one of this RBI was a HR that he hit in the top 8.

    Q. City.. 701 011 00x...10..10..1

The Mustangs got busy early and held off the Asheville team that rallied to make it interesting. With four walks to start the game, the Mustangs got RBI singles from William Frazier and Lee Harrison, and then Patrick Langdon swept the bases clean with a 3-run HR down the right field line. Tyler Powell lined a shot out of the ballpark in the 6th to plate Queen City's last run. Taylor Rowe was 2-4 with a double from the 9-hole for QC. Ryan Weise was very sharp over the first 4 innings, but encountered some trouble in the fifth. He picked up the win with solid relief pitching from Daniel Stewart and Lou Trosch. Queen City leads the series 2-0.

GM 2: Mint Hill Army 9, Rutherford County 8

Mint Hill's Brandon Rawe hit a 2 out walk-off single in the bottom of the 9th to score pinch runner Cody Stull from second to defeat Rutherford County 9-8 and even the series at one game a piece. MH took an early 8-1 lead after 6 innings with a solid pitching performance by Carson Plyler. RC made a late rally with 4 runs in the 7th and 3 more in the 8th to tie the game at 8-8. In the bottom of the 9th, Brandon McWhirter drew a lead off walk and advanced to second on a 1-out groundout by Plyler to set up the game winning hit. Game 3 will be tonight at RS Central @ 7pm.

    Queen City Mustangs 8....Asheville 6

    Asheville 002 004 000....6..11..4
    Q. City.. 122 100 20x....8..10..3

The Mustangs closed out the Asheville team in another very entertaining game. Eddie Hull homered and Bryce Bradley tripled to highlight the QC hitting attack and Lee Harrison provided a very gutty performance on the mound, tossing the complete game and making good pitches in tight situations through the final frames. Queen City broke a 6-6 tie with two runs in the bottom of the 7th on an RBI single by Colin Manning and a sac fly by Jackson Reisterer. Asheville made it interesting in the 9th as Alex Ledford and Carson Bryant both singled to put the tying runs on base, but Harrison stranded them. The second out came on a very seldom seen play. Harrison threw a pitch behind the batter who ducked and the ball struck the barrel of his bat while it was behind his head. the ball rolled barely fair in front of the plate and Colin Manning alertly pounced on it and retired the runner for the second out, while both runners advanced to scoring position. The final out came on a line out to RF. Queen City sweeps the series 3-0 and advances to the next round.

    Winning Pitcher: Lee Harrison
    Losing pitcher: Money

    Leading Hitters:

QC: Bryce Bradley 2-4, triple, RBI
QC: Eddie Hull 2-5, HR, RBI
    QC: Patrick Langdon 2-3
    AV: Alex Ledford 2-4,
    AV: Hunter Bryant 2-5, 2RBI
    AV: Carson Bryant 3-5
AV: Aaron Wright 2-4, double, RBI
