Round 1 - Cherryville vs Pineville

bad calls at cherryville

so what is new about this? from my experience this is the norm. pineville just had the guts to walk off and not just accept it. just wondering if the pineville fans got "mooned" by the cherryville fans like the caldwell fans use to as they complained about the bad calls.

 

If this is normal that Cherryville does get calls go there way all the time.then why there is no investing into this .And get to the button line .Don't anyone find it odds that in a series that Pineville play cherryville all 3 Umps come from cherryville.Does anyone know if for game 1 as well as game 3 last night if they were 3 umps in the game or just 2? As last year during Pineville playoff series we had just 2 umps not 3.Now as far cherryville fans goes to there defense in game 2 they they were not rude or offensive in anyway toward the Pineville players or the coaches

Yeah, the umpires have done it everytime!! It's hard for me to blame the umpires for a coach acting like a complete jackass though. That kind of behavior could probably be to blame for the 7-16 record this year.

From what I read on another board, the forfeit came after the umpires ejected the Pineville coaches. Pineville had only brought 11 players. One had been substituted already and one had been ejected earlier in the game for arguing balls and strikes. After the ejections in the 8th, Pineville didn't have enough players to finish the game.

 

It really a shame that in playoff's series that we had to have really bad umps that gave the calls to Cherryville .Because in a 1 vs eight match-up. All the games were close except game 1 when the umps had a very bad strikeout zone. You have to wonder if the umps were even giving both teams the calls. If Pineville was the one to advance to the next round and not Cherryville.

 

OK...that makes sense. Not a great situation, but understandable

 

A sidenote: Most good umpires don't like doing Legion (I'm not saying that ALL good umpires don't) because it's a 9 inning game and they can get paid the same amount for a 7 inning game in other leagues and tournaments.

Having said that the hardest call an field ump must make is a play at first (fielder off bag) when they are at 2nd. They need help from the plate umpire, but often times he missed it, too.

 

I wonder if this was case then why did the Gaston Gazette not put in it story

 

Hahaha...Dukey, think about that. A newspaper didn't put the whole story in the article. Not like that's ever happened before.

 

True but would have been a very important fact.I think we must get to the bottom of this .If Pineville had only brought 11 players.
