As long as his legion team had him on their roster by the deadline, his still playing school ball at USC does not make him ineligible for legion, the only thing he couldnt do was play legion ball until USC's season was over.

The dual participation rule does not apply to playing for your school, you just can't do legion until your school season is over. He is fine.

    Protest

Randolph protested High Point using an illegal bat in the 5th inning and has won the protest. Game will resume 1-0 Randolph in the 5th. Will be played tonight at McCrary Park.

    Unreal

This team seems to have the habit of getting their wins through the protesting the use of illegal bats...this makes the 3rd protest on their part. The rules on bats for legion ball seem at best fuzzy and when 3 umpires rule on the field at the time that the bat is acceptable before the bat is used, what is a coach to do? In addition, the umpires reviewed the illegal list after the game and the questionable bat was not on the list.....

BTW, the use of the bat did not generate a booming 450 ft home run, but a simple 4 ft bunt that scored 2 runs in the fifth on an error by the other team and it had absolutely nothing to do with the 8 runs scored in the ninth inning.....

I still am amazed that the bats can be inspected by the umpires and still be deemed illegal after they rule it ok...where is the breakdown? Who truly knows what can and cannot be used?

    Unreal...

The High Point-Randolph County game was a great game. Both teams fought hard and played good baseball. The RC coach missed an opportunity to teach his team life lessons that I thought were at the core of American Legion baseball.
Instead he took the focus off what a great game his team had just played....and chose to put it on 1 bat that was used for a bunt. (Let's be honest, that bat was not the reason the bunt was a success.) He could have congratulated his team on all the the positive things they accomplished, pointed out what they need to work on for next game, and then reminded them that they can still win this whole thing! That is baseball!!

:detonate: I bet thats what Coach Shore did today when he found out the protest was upheld.

3rd bat protest this year? what utter horse___ :detonate: If you can't beat them - protest.

:beatdeadhorse5::smiley_beatin_horse: sure hope they aren't using "illegal" bats

High Point beats Randolph County 7-6. It was a well played game on both sides. Bennett Hixson had a 2 rbi single in the top of the fifth (first inning of the game tonight). Big 7th inning with a 3 run shot by Mike Whited and a big time line drive HR that blistered the scoreboard in right center field by Desean Anderson.

awesome. Glad to see those Ragsdale boys takin care of business. Hixon graduated from Wesleyan but he was at Ragsdale two years before that.

Whited has been on fire this summer. Thought Anderson got hurt last night so it's good to see he was back in.

Now they have to beat Winston then Randolph again. I hope the extra game tonight didn't wear out their arms. Randolph gets a day to think about how they are going to lose again on Friday night whoever they meet.
