who were at Atlanta Legacy Showcase this past weekend, said that Jim Clift was telling everyone that he was the new head softball coach at WCU. The job was offered to JMU Assoc. Head Coach Kristy Norton, but she turned it down.

Kristy Norton would have been an asset to Western. Sorry to hear that she didn't take the job.

Clift did take the job. He was recruiting very hard in Atlanta. He is interested in several of our girls and we are currently working on setting up visits for them

Coach Clift is a good guy, should be a players coach, had his hands tied last year, tried to make suggestions and get players into games but got no response, will be looking for a positive change in program, mostly from the players attitude towards leadership.
    Good Luck Coach Clift

    Nothing to Do

She's not sorry, there ain't nothing in that town. Your stuck back in them thar hills and it's easy to get mountain fever. Hec, it's easy to get mountain fever in Boone. At least Boone is growing and there are things to do. Takes a special coach to take that job.

That's not the reason she did not take the job.

Actually that area is a pretty great area unless you are wanting big city type things to do.
