    High Point v. Cary

    Yes, High Point won 11-7. They face the winner of Cherryville and Morehead City who square off tonight.

    Just a personal note. My kid, who plays for Cary, hit a grand slam in the loss. Didn't seem to make him very happy considering it didn't lead to a win, but he had never hit one before even in LL. So, I'm mighty proud.

    Need some help

    Hello fellow N.C. Senior Legion baseball fans. I am trying to compile a record book for the state tournament, specifically completed brackets and game-by-game scores from the 2000-2006 state tournaments. I have 2007-10 and am updating the 2011 bracket as the games are completed. Is there anyone out there who has game scores and completed brackets from those tournaments? We have a tradition-rich Legion area and I'd love to have this information archived for our newspaper. Thanks ahead to anyone who can help!

    I wish I could get to Morehead City to see him play this weekend. Baseball is really going to miss him. Hope he comes back as a coach one day!

    Beginning Day 2...

    Wayne County defeats Hickory this morning in the first elimination game by a score of 14-0. Hickory is now eliminated and Wayne Co lives to play another day (see brackets). Judging by the score of this game, it appears that Wayne County did not like losing yesterday, nevertheless congrats to Hickory on a fine season.
