Dynamic Showcase at the Beach 2011

    Christopher Newport University 1 pm

    Pool F: Long Island Storm (2-0-1) vs Richmond Baseball Academy (2-1-0) this game will decide the pool winner who will advance to the playoffs.
    Storm take a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning on the good old "pickle play".

    WOW....the final score ended up being 12-0 in 2 1/2 innings mercy rule. Congrats to the Storm for winning the pool. (the king Fish was also in the pool with his fins flapping)

    Championship Sunday at the Beach

    Mother nature tried her hardest to kill this event but MAN prevailed and we are ready for some playoff baseball games!

    Pool Winners matchups:
    Muckdawgs vs Diamond Pros at Lake Taylor HS
    Long Island Cobras vs Hitters Warehouse at CNU
    Lake Shore Gray Sox 15u vs Long Island Storm at Virginia Wesleyan
    All-Star Baseball Academy Prospects vs TSI Titans at ODU


    In the second inning at CNU the Hitters Whse have runners on 1st and 3rd with one out via a walk and a hit and run single by Hunter Davis to right. On an attempted double steal the Cobras nail the runner at the plate for the second out. A groundout ends the half inning. Hits continue as Sam Sinnen drives in the 4th run of the inning.
    Midway thru the game NO Score!
    Tom Kane a one out base hit here in the 5th followed by a walk and an error loads the bases. RBI base hit by Kyle Rosso. A double by Tyler Boothe scores two more. Mike Donovan with an rbi duck snort to right. Inning ends with the Hitters leading 5-0.

    Hitters tack on 4 runs in the 7th inning and finish off the Cobras by a score of 9-0.

    11:30 Semi-Final matchup:
    Hitters Warehouse vs Long Island Storm

    The Hitters leadoff batter drew a walk, stole second base and scored the first run of the game on Josh Mason single.
    The Storm tie the game in the bottom of the first after a single by the catcher Elvin Soto and his courtesy runner scores on a single by DH Fralen Paez and Paez reaches second on an error in the outfield. The inning ends as Hitters CF Jeffrey Swoope guns down Paez trying to score.

    The Storm takes the lead in the bottom of the second as XH Nicholas DiSanza scores on a single by RF Thomas Viverito.

    Hitters strikes back with two in the top of the fifth with RBI singles from both XH Sam Sinnen and LF Michael Donovan. Through four and a half, Hitters Warehouse lead the Long Island Storm 3 to 2.

    Elvin Soto draws the Storm back even with an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth scoring leadoff hitter Terence Connelly. Tied 3 to 3 after five complete.

    Storm takes the lead in the bottom of the sixth on an rbi single by Thomas Viverito but the Hiitters answer in the top of the seventh on a sac fly by Sam Sinnen. Score is tied at 4-4 going to the bottom of the 7th.

    Ok fans we are going into extra innings in a most exciting semi-final game!

    Hitters Warehouse load the bases with no outs..........................on 3 walks! Here we go!!!!

    Hitters take the lead once again on a sac. fly by Ryan Beard followed by another walk and then a huge 2 out, 2 run single by Stephen Swoope. It is now 7 to 4 and we are still in the top of the eighth as the Storm make yet another pitching change.

    Hunter Davis scores on a wild pitch and an errant throw to now make it 8 to 4.

    Sam Sinnen strikes again as he blows open the top of the eighth with a two run single with the bases loaded. As the inning mercifully comes to an end, Hitters now lead 10 to 4.

    Josh Mason (William and Mary, 2011) shuts the door in the bottom of the eighth and the Hitters Warehouse wins 10 to 4 and will move on to the Championship game right here at CNU. Congrats to both teams for a hard fought great game!

    Well folks, the championship game is now all set!!! After the Diamond Pro's 5 to 2 win over the TSI Titans. Stay tuned for the championship blog... expected to start around 4:30.

    Championship Game @ CNU

    Maryland Diamond Pros (MD) VS Hitters Warehouse 17 (VA)

    Both teams rolling into Christopher Newport University to start the game at 4:30 with 6-0 Undefeated records.

    Hitters Warehouse will send Justing Long 2012 Bayside High School to the Bump. According to Hitters Skipper Tim Druzgala he is a 3 pitch command guy with mid 80's fastball and his breaking ball is his best pitch.

    Hitters Warehouse is up 1 to 0 in Top of the 3rd.

    Hitters warehouse is up 4-2 in bottom of the 7th.

    Maryland Diamond Pros got the lead off man on to start the 7th.

    Diamond Pro's Threaten with runners on 1st and 2nd with 2 outs, but attempt to steal third base and get thrown out at 3rd base for the final out of the Tournament.

    HITTERS WAREHOUSE 17 ARE 2011 DYNAMIC CHAMPIONSHIP AT THE BEACH CHAMPIONS.

    Congratulations to Tim Druzgala, and Allen Elledge. They run a solid outfit.
