Best "bang for the buck tb teams"

    I had a parent who receintly moved here ask me which teams are considered the "best bang for the buck"??

    its hard for me to make a comment or opinion on this without looking partial, but i think that if we divide this into two of the trends of tb, we just might get some input.

    how about tournament playing teams and then showcase teams.

    now, in a couple of phone calls to some of the organizations in my area, I found a tournament type organization that offered the following:

    college coaches and former college players coaching and training players within the organization, 2-3 weekends per month, focusing on training and just having a good time going for the win and cost is Mid $300.00 per player per season (old school)

    Palmetto Sting Organization has the above offering.

    I would like to hear from other organizations as to what they offer, kinda of in the above format with pricing and also, if they require their players to participate in fund raising or if they require their players to bring in a specific amount of donations? and if a showcase team, where are you playing next year and perhaps your potential schedule??

    it a chance to brag about what you've got going on and what kind of value it is for the players...

    Lady Tigers Fastpitch

    The Lady Tigers Fastpitch organization, founded in 2009, based in Cabarrus County NC, and with players from Cabarrus, Mecklenberg, Stanly and Rowan counties, is comprised of 6 teams 8u thru 14u.

    Strengths of Organization:
    - Competitive in every age group, multiple tournaments won in 2011 in every age group - 24 tournaments titles in 2 years (Mighty Casey, AAU Nationals, World Series, etc)
    - Strong coaching staff dedicated to teaching fundamentals and being role models to our young ladies.
    - Organization use of dedicated 30,000 sq ft warehouse for Winter workouts in Concord.
    - $200 - $300 per season depending on age group
    - Official non profit organization in state of NC, do some fundraisers
    - Play approx 12 tournaments in Spring and 6 in fall - practice 2x a week.
    - Utilize college and other instructors to augment practice routines in hitting and pitching

    ok, so we only have two organizations that are willing to talk about their programs????

    Palmetto Sting

    The Palmetto Sting was formed in the fall of 2007. Since that time we have grown to have 8 teams ranging from 10U -18U. Our main goal as a organization is for the girls to have fun while working hard. Our 18U team is coached by Ellie Hanover, Belmont Abbey Head Coach and have current Belmont Abbey players as assistants. We do not do showcase tournaments, try to keep cost down, but all of our seniors will continue to play in college. Coach Ellie does an awesome job with the girls with their development and makes sure the girls are seen by the college coaches at where they wish to attend. We try to do tournaments every other weekend in the upstate of South Carolina and in the Charlotte area.

    From what I know and have heard the Carolina Cardinals are the best organization. I have heard a lot of good things about the coaches. The SunDevils are another good team along with the Curve, Lady Blues, Challengers, Foothills Heat, and I am sure there are other good organizations out there. One major point you have to look at, is not just they always keep on winning, but there coach's know the college coach's well and they get there girls recruited.

    Are teams like the Palmetto Sting unusual? I thought most teams in the 16 and 18 range that had girls that wanted to play College ball were showcase teams...what are some other teams like this?

    Carolina Flames & TFS also run good programs.

    agree, but lets hear about costs and training, views on things and schedules

    The Palmetto Sting practices twice a week during the week and try to play every other weekend. A lot of times we play teams that do the showcase tournaments. The weekend we don't play we don't practice. Gives the girls time to enjoy summer. The players on our team want to play local so thats why we concentrate on local tournaments in the carolinas.
