Who should be the new head coach for Myers Park?

It's "Bo Time"

 

Bo Robinson?? That would be cool. news travels fast. Coach Spencer's email just came out this morning. Got to like a man that puts his family first.

Coach Capps did a great job w the JV team he was a VERY positive influence w great baseball background(dad commisioner of Colegiate wood bat league) and I believe they only lost 2 or 3 games but I believe there is a rule that you have to be a CMS employee to be a head coach??

 

You do not have to be a CMS employee to be a head coach. There are a lot of good baseball people in the area that will want to look at that job I bet

 

No matter what, Myers Park will get a great coach. If Greg Clewis was still the AD, I would know who the next coach would be, however, since he's not, I will still throw a name in the hat that should be considered. I don't know if this coach has interest or not, but it would be the perfect marriage.

Former Myers Park and Lenoir Rhyne catcher, a Clewis protege and a current HC at an Iredell County school, Trey Ramsey would be the perfect choice.

It will take a unique coach to be successful at MP. Although they always have talent, it can be challenging to motivate the team. It's one of those schools that NEED to have a former player as a coach. He will understand the unique culture, the politics, and more importantly, how to deal with the players and their parents.

Trey is still young, but he was born to coach and has 4-5 years HC experience under his belt. Certain people you know are destined to be a HS coach...Trey Ramsey is one of those people.

As SCS mentioned, there are many to choose from that are more than capable...Bo Robinson, Kevin Hill, Jake Robbins (another MP alum), Windall Robertson, etc....but Trey is the one!

 

What about Derrick Shoe?

 

I am sure there will be a lot of interest in this position and rightfully so, Myers Park is a great school with high academic and athletic standards. But I definitely agree with Braves that Trey Ramsey would be an absolute great choice for this position. First he went to school and played there and is familiar with how things work around there, but he is also a very smart, good young coach. He has 4 or 5 years experience as a head coach at the HS level and teaches the game the right way. Definitely will be interesting to see how this plays out.
